Xbox One Gets SkyDrive Support For Photos and Vids
Written By
View author's profile

For the uninitiated, SkyDrive is Microsoft's cloud-based service used to store files and stuff, including photographs and videos, linked to your Microsoft account. SkyDrive will be available to use on Xbox One's dashboard, meaning you can view slideshows of your memories on a big screen, looking all big and pretty, like.

In the video below, you can find out more about how SkyDrive functions on Xbox One, with voice commands for speed and ease of use, and Internet Explorer integration for discovering more about the subjects in a photo, be it the Syndney Opera House or whatever.

Take a look at the video below to see how you can zoom, pan, enhance and view photos and videos in HD. You can start uploading photos and videos to SkyDrive and then view them on your Xbox One. SkyDrive will be available on Xbox One in time for launch day on November 22nd.

I'm really hoping we can put recordings from the in game DVR on there. Uploading my latest clip to SkyDrive would be nicer than having to upload it to YouTube as a private video just so I can watch it later and clear up Xbox One hard drive space.

Did anyone else notice the number of the beast? You can find it after 5:10 mins in the video :D

OT: Looks nice and all, and I see we're getting an Xbox One.1, so we can do not only 2 things simultaneously, but at least 3 or 4! :D

I'd like for them to figure out the save system. I asked XB1 support as to where saves are saved. HDD, Cloud, or backed up to Cloud. Their response, "Good question. We don't know yet." Er... what? "This" close to cancelling my pre-order over that alone.

@6 they probably just said that so that they didn't reveal anything more about the system.

@6 you seriously asked that?

The console can be played offline so saves have to be saved to the HDD.

@6 I would assume it works like the 360, local saves that are backed up on the cloud

Nice little feature an all, but my tv has been able to do this for alone time. .. I never use it though. It will be better on xbox one. come on next week im so not ready to stand out in the cold, but that xbox one is so worth it. Oh yeah by the way guys/girls. I have been informed by the boss of gamestop about this. If you have a xbox one, or playstation 4 preordered get it as soon as possible,if you do not...I repeat DO NOT pick up your console 24 hours after its release it will be sold to someone else. Kinda f^ed up but thats how its going down at gamestop. Idk how its working elsewhere but please get yours if preordered ASAP.

Of course I asked that. Why wouldn't I? Of course it's easy to assume all saves would be local and backed up to cloud, but... this is the great era of "online connectivity". GTA Online can be played offline, but ALL saves are on the cloud. Yea, I get it, it's "online", but why are saves not saved local to HDD? It's just another thing to potentially go wrong. And to say they didn't answer cause they "didn't want to reveal more about the system", that's just stupid.

you can't save to the cloud if you're offline so there has to be local saves as well as cloud ones. :-/
