On Friday Microsoft announced that NOW TV would be released on the Xbox One between November 22nd and spring 2014 in the UK, yet Sky have told Videogamer today that it might slip to summer instead, whilst also mentioning the future of Sky Go.
"We enjoy a long track-record of innovating with Microsoft and look forward to the launch of NOW TV on Xbox One by summer next year,” said a Sky spokesperson about the pay as you go TV app. “As a dedicated over-the-top service, we have prioritised the availability of NOW TV, to extend the reach of the service to the main TV."
The most high profile missing app from the list on Friday – other than the iPlayer which the BBC is “working to bring” to Xbox One – was Sky Go, an app which allows existing Sky users to access their service elsewhere, on such devices like the Xbox 360, tablets, mobile devices and more.
With regard to Sky Go, Sky had this to say, “Looking ahead, we will also consider any future opportunities for Sky Go.”
Fingers crossed that Sky and Microsoft can come to some sort of an arrangement and UK users will see Sky Go on their platforms in the near future.
