Tomb Raider: Definitive Collection Listed for Next-Gen Consoles

Evidence is mounting that something called Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition is coming to next-gen consoles.

The first indication of the game comes via Amazon Italy, where the title was listed for PlayStation 4 and an “Unknown Platform”, which is presumably Xbox One. The listing, which has since been taken down, suggested a January 24th release.

This is supported by the Brazillian ratings board, which lists the game for both next-gen systems.

So what exactly is Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition? Well, Amazon Italy says that it’s the game itself along with all of the DLC, an art book, and sexy packaging. There's no indication whether the game will receive some kind of graphical bump.

Expect an official announcement soonish.

  • This was a really good game but I can't see myself buying it for next-gen, unless the improvements are vast
  • Wasn't all the DLC just for MP?
  • Id play it all over again it was awesome
  • @1 agree game, Mp i think let it dowm, they should go out a do a new tomb raider from scratch for the new gens coming up, istead of scratch n polish, would be lush i think
  • Only just started playing it on the 360, its great
  • @ Yes, with the exception of a pre-order bonus tomb(I think). I would play this again on next-gen, but only if they left out the MP achievements.
  • @6 Oh, cause that's likely. "Let's remove half the package and re-sell it!". What an absolute fuckwit.
  • This game was amazing on 360, if it comes out on xbox one I might buy again depending on the price.
  • Great game.
  • @7 You might want to read that again. No. 6 isn't saying leave out the Multiplayer just leave out the MP achievments. I for one didn't buy the game because of it, some people might think it's sad and I'm missing out but there are many games that don't forcefeed MP onto us, and I chose to reward those games with my hard earned money. I just don't have the time/patients to invest in MP which I don't like. I never sell my games and I only buy new I like completing my games and will take the time for it, so in my view MP cheevos are a strike against the game which I will take into account. Didn't ming GoW: Ascension for example it just required you to play a match online, so I'm not against Multiplayer in games just these rediculous grinding achievements to try and hook players in. Which is contradictional because they want people playing not boosting.
  • I'll get it for next generation splendour, boss game
  • This, to my mind, is why they left out 'Backwards Compatibility'. Re-release older games (for digital download) and make us pay again, if we want to play our old games. This will be the first of many, many games to be re-released like this in the near future i'm afraid! Kerching!!! :-(
  • @7 It's alright mate, I hate when someone shits in my corn flakes too.
  • @13 I hate when that happens
  • Was thinking about picking this up for the 360 on black friday, guess I'll hold off now.
  • This game was friggin awesome so I would have no problem playing it again.
  • @12 I don't know if that was the original intention, but it looks like this is going to become a fad for developers.
  • I got this game on 360 and PC, And console players really missed out on how f*cking good it looked on PC, I would definately buy it again.
  • I would also buy this again after 1,000ing the 360 edition. The MP was nothing special but it was a fantastic single player experience. Hope they won't beat the crap out of poor Lara so much in the next one. It got downright ridiculous at times.
  • @10 You sound like such a fucking tool.
  • I would update the article. The system is no longer unknown (side says Xbox One)
  • Never actually did play this, suppose I'll get around to it now.
  • If it's the same game, I won't get it. Although I loved the original.
  • I heard it was only going to PS4, so very happy it's coming to Xbox One as well. Really p***es me off seeing games like Diablo and Injustice only on PS4 when clearly the Xbox can handle it.
  • Single-player is amazing but online multiplayer is shitty and MP cheevos is horrible. So shouldn't had definitive collection for it or just removed online multiplayer modes out of way and add new achievements to reached 50 achievements same as original but because of being removed MP modes so which mean Definitive Collection to had all single-player achievements for up to 50 achievements. Come on Square Enix, you not want give more players more annoyed about MP cheevos and horrible MP modes!!! One of best single-player games this year and one of worst MP games this year lol
  • one of the great games this year, the single payer campaing is great. MP i canĀ“t played that. i hope they remove the MP and add some single player dlc. (dreaming) i yhink i can play it again.
  • It looked pretty damn good on this gen not really sure what they could do to improve it graphically, maybe just bump up the res and frame rate?
  • def getting this. I'm glad as we get closer to launch we're see A LOT more games heading our way
  • I'm with #3 I'd buy it again because it's awesome. But I'd wait for a price reduction first
  • I told myself I would not play any games on my One that I already have on my 360 but if this comes out and is in fact a port of the recent Tomb Raider reboot I will most definitely be playing this as it is hands down one of my favorite games of all time
