Fallout 4 has been spotted on German games retailer website Gamesware, presumably in response to the teaser website, 'TheSurvivor2299.com', believed to be linked to the next instalment in the apocalyptic RPG/shooter series. And though it's been written off by some as a hoax, the teaser site continues to be updated with morse code and coded messages.
Some of these messages have been deciphered and pertain to Fallout 4's oft-rumoured Boston setting, the most recent of which is "THE INSTITUTE IS SEALED. THEY WON'T HELP US. I'M HEADING TO BLACK ROW. -NGQHT 5120-" according to a document posted by a user on NeoGAF.
The document in question has been keeping tabs on the 'Survivor2299' teaser site, translating the changing morse code and deciphering the messages that have frequently been posted. Morse code messages point towards survivors calling for help from Vault 119, with distress calls like: "Calling all stations, this is overseer 119 emergency enemy unknown, SOS. Vault 119 Quabbin 7667, repeat, SOS, Vault 119 Quabbin 7667 enemy unknown."
Today's message is another cry for help from Vault 119, which reads: "Calling all stations, this is Vault 119, SOS, Level 4 is under attack, Overseer is dead, repeat, SOS, Level 4 is under attack, Overseer is dead. (We want Mark I? We won’t make it?)"
It's all a rich tapestry, and could eventually add up to nothing. But chances are, it could also mean an announcement for Fallout 4 is imminent, and could be coming as soon as VGX later this week. We'll simply have to wait and see.
