Tecmo has released a new trailer for Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z, the Ninja Gaiden spin-off designed by Mega-Man creator Keiji Inafune and developed in collaboration with Team Ninja and Spark Unlimited. This latest video shows off an old-school side-scrolling beat 'em up mode that'll be in the game.
As well as including side-scrolling beat 'em action that riffs on Ninja Gaiden's original NES heyday, the retro 'Ninja Gaiden Z' mode even has single-frame cut-scenes complete with text, just like the Ninja Gaiden titles of old. The soundtrack too is the usual 8-bit noise that was commonplace in the 80s and early 90s.
Check out the new Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z trailer below for a look at the side-scrolling retro mayhem. The game will be hacking off limbs on February 27th, 2014 in Australia, February 28th in Europe and on March 4th in North America for Xbox 360.
