The word Sh*t.... Really?Tuesday, December 17, 2013 @ 10:45 AM
Australia fucking sucks for gamers.Tuesday, December 17, 2013 @ 10:52 AM
Im glad the stick of truth is going down under.Tuesday, December 17, 2013 @ 10:55 AM
You're fuckin' kidding, right? I'll get it off Ebay.. Why the fuck did we even introduce an R+ rating for games?Tuesday, December 17, 2013 @ 10:56 AM
I'm so sick of living in a country of over protective idiots monitoring what people can have access to. This is democracy manifest (reference)Tuesday, December 17, 2013 @ 11:03 AM
@2 We've missed out on games like Syndicate, yes. It's not as bad as you think it is though. Most games remain uncensored and the ones that get modified only a short mission or weapon is taken outTuesday, December 17, 2013 @ 11:09 AM
eBayTuesday, December 17, 2013 @ 11:14 AM
Fuck me, not again, I'm really over this shit happening.Tuesday, December 17, 2013 @ 11:17 AM
we were fighting for year to get R18 we even said to the guy who banned R18 you don't give it back we will kill you he even left his job and they unbanned R18 yet still give us this censored shit they killed L4D2 in Australia when they censored it they need to fuck off let us play what we wantTuesday, December 17, 2013 @ 11:20 AM
I think this will be what was modified: "During the course of the game, drug paraphernalia can be seen strewn around a methamphetamine lab." If drugs were lootable and gave positive stat boosts it would be Refused Classification.Tuesday, December 17, 2013 @ 11:31 AM
Damn... Gotta feels for the Aussies! Harsh times.Tuesday, December 17, 2013 @ 11:33 AM
@#9: Pardon?Tuesday, December 17, 2013 @ 11:37 AM
@12 the only thing I see that you may not understand from that was the killing someone ... there were many death threats for R18Tuesday, December 17, 2013 @ 11:42 AM
Really? People sent death threats? There really are some unbalanced nutjobs out there. It's surprising it actually got passed, death threats don't really tend to win over people's confidence.Tuesday, December 17, 2013 @ 11:45 AM
death threats need to be done over here they try to tell us what to do more then they should we really need a new government I wouldn't say no for someone bombing Australia and taking it over they will be better leaders then we have nowTuesday, December 17, 2013 @ 11:49 AM
Australia is really havin some "1984" regime. Better start a revolution. Seriously.Tuesday, December 17, 2013 @ 11:52 AM
@16 I've been saying it for years but im 1 person in 25 million no one listens to me lolTuesday, December 17, 2013 @ 12:08 PM
I don't watch South Park and probably never will, but I do think my country is taking censorship a bit too far.Tuesday, December 17, 2013 @ 12:09 PM
@15 To be fair, I don't think death threats help paint it in a good light, give use gamers what we want or we'll kill you. Really puts across a positive image for gamers...Tuesday, December 17, 2013 @ 12:22 PM
They will probably just remove the drug paraphernalia in Australia, that seems to be what the censorship board has a big issue with, it will hardly kill the game.Tuesday, December 17, 2013 @ 12:23 PM
God fucking damn it, guess I'm importing this.Tuesday, December 17, 2013 @ 12:28 PM
@20 Most likely would be that, I remember something like that happened with Fallout 3Tuesday, December 17, 2013 @ 12:40 PM
@22 and I think saint row but my point is im 21 and im not a baby the game is R18 why should I suffer because dumbass people buy there kids games without reading the back I read the back of the case on all the games I buy just to see what it offers so I somewhat know what im buyingTuesday, December 17, 2013 @ 12:55 PM
If it is drug related, I doubt it would affect the game that muchTuesday, December 17, 2013 @ 01:44 PM
Bit of a double standard from a country derived from convictsTuesday, December 17, 2013 @ 01:56 PM
police state over there, government has its fingers involved with WAY to many civil liberties.Tuesday, December 17, 2013 @ 02:26 PM
Oh dear Australia always got this. Shame. STUPID LAW over there!!! I supports Aussie gamers. LAW so thick head!!!Tuesday, December 17, 2013 @ 02:27 PM
@25 don't judge people for what others did over 200 years ago we don't judge you for others making a rebellion against there king having countless killed then after winning going and taking the last of the natives and inslaving them I don't judge for thatTuesday, December 17, 2013 @ 02:29 PM
Holy fucking shit. I'm so fucking sick of this same shit happening. What the fuck is the point of having R18+ when this is just going to happen? So sick of this absolute bullshitTuesday, December 17, 2013 @ 03:13 PM
I think its high time the Australian government let the consumer of their country decide what they want to be exposed to. Lets face it, if the game has an R18 certificate, then shops won't be selling to 10 year olds. Not saying that a 10year old won't get their hands on it, but still. Treat adults as adults, and not dumb, mindless idiots.Tuesday, December 17, 2013 @ 03:30 PM
@28 you have made such a compelling case from your arguement with your moronic ranting during this thread that I'm amazed you are allowed to eat solids and have your straight jacket taken off long enough to type. If anything you strengthen the case why you should not be left up to your own questionable judgement to buy which games you want. Death threats over a cartoon video game, really ?Tuesday, December 17, 2013 @ 03:48 PM
@31 maybe you should read what I say I don't want death threats I said they were there its a fact and im ranting about them telling me and other Australians what we can play tbh I don't care much about this game but the fact there doing it is bullshit all the aussies who wanted this game are going to think again before buying even if its just alittle changeTuesday, December 17, 2013 @ 03:57 PM
jesus Christ people read half of what other people say then go calling people crazy im not even talking about anyone im talking about a government being controlling and im the fucking idiot for speaking my mind about something outrageousTuesday, December 17, 2013 @ 04:12 PM
Wow... "Cutscenes occasionally depict “cartoony” characters dismembered or decapitated. The game includes several instances of mature humor and sexual material: one extended sequence depicts characters getting anally probed by alien creatures; another sequence (in an abortion clinic) depicts doctors using a vacuum to perform procedures on male characters; one level takes place inside the rectum/colon of a character (sex toys, random objects and fecal matter appear in the level)—all sequences are depicted in a cartoony and over-the-top manner." "Characters are occasionally depicted nude (e.g., breasts, buttocks, male genitalia); one extended sequence depicts an out-of-focus couple having sex in the background; as players engage in turn-based battle in the foreground, sexual moaning sounds/dialogue is heard. During the course of the game, drug paraphernalia can be seen strewn around a methamphetamine lab. The words 'f**k,' 'sh*t,' 'a*shole,' and 'f*ggot' can be heard in the dialogue.” Death threats and buying the game on ebay are solutions? There is a deeper problem than having this game censored...Tuesday, December 17, 2013 @ 04:41 PM
Looks like the Australian Ratings Board has a big floppy wiener to dangle in your face...Tuesday, December 17, 2013 @ 04:59 PM
Fuck I'm embarrassed to be Australian. Then again, thank goodness I have have people much smarter and braver than I am who can make all the tough decisions for me. Lucky they stopped Ryse from being released - all those dismemberments, however would I cope? Nah, that's fine. Cut some digital fucker up until his limbs look like mini hams. If it references a drug - arrrgghh! Take it out! Take it out! Pretty sure Breaking Bad finale posters were on school buses in Sydney around it's time of airing. Gotta lurv the hypocrisy of the Banana Republic! /endrant Already cancelled the pre-order on this twice due to the delays, am now continuing my stance: "No One version, no purchase". Sorry.Tuesday, December 17, 2013 @ 09:03 PM
First off, Master Sieder you do not represent the whole of Australia. You need to calm down, you are embarrassing yourself and your nation. It is ridiculous that people of any age are able to watch Southpark on TV for free, but when it is in a game that is restricted to people over 18 and that you have to pay for, it gets censored. Looks like I will be getting this one from ozgameshop.Tuesday, December 17, 2013 @ 10:29 PM
As an Australian, I thought I'd come here and voice my opinion, without swearing, or death threats. I am somewhat upset at the censoring. That is all.Wednesday, December 18, 2013 @ 12:47 AM
#38, no need to get upset friend. Like 2 people above have mentioned. Go on ebay and buy it there. Bypass the system. Same with the rest of you getting upset. Calm down, take a deep breathe if you have too. Go on ebay, or sign up. Buy it from there.Wednesday, December 18, 2013 @ 04:56 AM
Why did we even bother getting an R18 rating here, we don't seem to use it?

South Park: The Stick of Truth has been censored for release in Australia, Ubisoft has said.
Speaking to PlayerAttack, the publisher said that a "slightly modified version of South Park The Stick of Truth has been approved for release in Australia on March 6". No further details have been shared about the nature of the changes, but we do know that the game will carry a R18+ rating.
Meanwhile, the previously published rating for the North American version of the game suggests that no changes have been made. Read the full description from the ESRB below, it’s pretty funny.
“This is a role-playing adventure game based on the animated South Park TV show. Players assume the role of a new kid in town who embarks on various quests with other boys in the neighborhood. Players can engage in turn-based combat, selecting attacks from a menu screen. Players use various weapons (swords, baseball bats, hammers), magic spells and melee attacks during fights; blood-splatter effects sometimes occur.
"Cutscenes occasionally depict “cartoony” characters dismembered or decapitated. The game includes several instances of mature humor and sexual material: one extended sequence depicts characters getting anally probed by alien creatures; another sequence (in an abortion clinic) depicts doctors using a vacuum to perform procedures on male characters; one level takes place inside the rectum/colon of a character (sex toys, random objects and fecal matter appear in the level)—all sequences are depicted in a cartoony and over-the-top manner.
"Characters are occasionally depicted nude (e.g., breasts, buttocks, male genitalia); one extended sequence depicts an out-of-focus couple having sex in the background; as players engage in turn-based battle in the foreground, sexual moaning sounds/dialogue is heard. During the course of the game, drug paraphernalia can be seen strewn around a methamphetamine lab. The words 'f**k,' 'sh*t,' 'a*shole,' and 'f*ggot' can be heard in the dialogue.”
South Park: The Stick of Truth, following numerous delays, arrives in North America on March 4th and Europe on March 7th, 2014.
