I had a good time with Mafia 2, i hope to see a 3.Friday, January 10, 2014 @ 11:35 AM
Mafia 2 was one of my favourite games on the 360, such a shame if they didn't follow this up.Friday, January 10, 2014 @ 11:40 AM
I really loved Mafia 2 and it is one of good games in 2010. Only problem with it is open world map felt a empty even you collected all collectibles before completed game and map felt small. Here hopeful Mafia III come with large map, more side missions, fixing and improved better team mate, enemy, cop and people A.I.s, improved cover system, more and more story telling into large open world and of course depth gameplay than before.Friday, January 10, 2014 @ 11:43 AM
I adored Mafia 2, it really pulled me out of a gaming slump I was in at the time, fantastic. So sad to here this news :(Friday, January 10, 2014 @ 11:51 AM
Anyway. Good luck to all people who worked there. Sad of course too. They bought us good BioShock 2 and Mafia 2 so they did their best well there. They made huge mistakes with The Bureau because game weren't that good and it is not felt as XCOM game so which is why game sold badly. I wish 2K Games gave this studios a chance. But I knew it is happened if game sold badly than had closed down since losing lots money and business. I will be missed them because they bought us so good BioShock 2 and Mafia 2 which is most of us and gamers will never forget them for those games. :) I respect to 2K Czech. Loved ya guys and have good one in future for new jobs!!!Friday, January 10, 2014 @ 11:52 AM
I loved Mafia 2! However I do need a third after that crap ending on the second oneFriday, January 10, 2014 @ 11:52 AM
@11 so true, I really liked the game but was a bit stuck for things to do afterwards even with the dlcFriday, January 10, 2014 @ 12:04 PM
#15 I agreed with you about DLC. I like 2 DLCs and I had so much fun from start to end even though I hate 2 DLC achievements but that is just achievements because 1 million points and tried to do jump 200 feets. Lol. HeheheFriday, January 10, 2014 @ 12:25 PM
@13 was it not 2k Marin that made bioschock 2 and the bureau? the team that got shut just before christmas!Friday, January 10, 2014 @ 12:34 PM
Really enjoyed Mafia II but the DLC was a real dissapointment because there was no story to it IMHO.Friday, January 10, 2014 @ 01:20 PM
#1 - stop with the hashtags please...Friday, January 10, 2014 @ 02:42 PM
The PC version of Mafia 1 was amazing the xbox port was poorly done.Friday, January 10, 2014 @ 03:07 PM
#17 Thanks you tell me. I made mistake yeah. Anyway it is still sad to see 2K studios shutdown.Friday, January 10, 2014 @ 03:31 PM
@21 - That's what I've heard. I managed to find the first on PC a few years back, and it's great. Console ports were apparently atrocious.Friday, January 10, 2014 @ 03:50 PM
@22 no problem! Yeah it sucks that they shut down, I enjoy most 2k games!Friday, January 10, 2014 @ 04:38 PM
#24 Yeah buddy!! :)Friday, January 10, 2014 @ 06:05 PM
This is very sad. I loved Mafia 1 one of my favorite games of all time. While the 2nd one wasn't as good i still loved it. Hope they find a way to still make Mafia 3.Friday, January 10, 2014 @ 06:36 PM
Shame :( I was looking forward to a Mafia III.Friday, January 10, 2014 @ 10:18 PM
Mafia I was the best one, and Mafia II should have been a straight up remake. Mafia I steals the show on everything, but was lacking due to the technology of the time. Seems this way with most games IMO. Then Mafia II should have been Mafia III.

2K Czech looks set to close down, with the studio relocating resources and laying off a number of staff.
The studio was believed to be developing Mafia III for Xbox One and PS4, though an official statement was never made. The game was reportedly intended as a next-gen launch title.
The future of the game is in further doubt then, as 2K Czech team is now either currently out of a job, or is heading to one of the company’s other studios.
"We have relocated and consolidated our 2K Czech team from our Prague facility to centralise resources in our location in Brno,” 2K told Eurogamer.
“Additionally, we are transferring some development resources from Prague and Brno to 2K headquarters in Novato, CA.”
"This transition will both strengthen the integration of the 2K Czech team with our award winning development teams, and better align cross-functional business practices. As part of this realignment, we are adjusting our staffing levels, resulting in the elimination of some positions.”
Business speak, eh? It makes “some people are gonna have a really crappy new year” sound ultra-boring.
