Microsoft Quashes Halo Movie Rumours

Contrary to yesterday's reports, Microsoft has no plans for a Halo movie produced by Ridley Scott.
"The Halo franchise encompasses many elements, including games, action figures, novels and more," a Microsoft spokesperson told Eurogamer.
"As always, we have many projects in the works that offer us the opportunity to bring in new audiences to the franchise, as we did in the past with Halo Legends and Halo: Forward Unto Dawn. We plan to continue telling the Halo story through innovative channels, but there are no plans for a Halo motion picture at this time."
The original story popped up yesterday via Production Weekly, suggesting that Aliens and Blade Runner director Ridley Scott would produce a feature-length Halo movie, while Prison Break writer Paul Scheuring was on script-writing duties. But it wasn't to be.
Still, production of the Halo TV series created in collaboration with Steven Spielberg continues, so those looking for a bit more live-action Master Chief shouldn't be totally bereft.
