Metal Gear Solid masterbrain Hideo Kojima has tweeted a couple of images showcasing the second screen functionality for Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, demoing the mini-map stuff you'll be able to utilise in Snake's latest adventure.

It's shown working on a tablet and a smartphone, using Microsoft's Xbox One SmartGlass application. The images follow Kojima revealing that the game will work with PS Vita remote play for PlayStation 4. Xbox One will have its own second screen support.

Check out the tweeted images below. Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is out on March 18th in North America and March 20th in Europe. Get the Xbox 360 achievement list here.

If this would actually work, not like DR3s Smart Glass functionality.

I like this idea. I HATE having a cluttered hud so if I can throw an interactive map onto a second touchscreen I'm happy.

So, I'm a bit confused here. You show the artwork for the 360 version of the game while telling about a function for the X1. I'm guessing the smartglass app is NOT going to work on the 360? Its rather nebulous...

@3 DR3's SmartGlass functions could have been a lot better, and there were a couple of hickups on occasion, like phone calls sometimes going through on the Xbox One but not on SmartGlass.

@4 it probably will be the same smart glass on the 360 version, but bare in mind not everyone has bought an Xbox one, they will want emphasis on how "fantastic" the Xbox one is.

Problem being is we'll need to wait until launch to make sure it is on the 360 version, I personally can't see why not, it's simple enough to make it available to both platforms.

@7 most likely the 360 version doesn't have smart glass as its not imbedded in the os so most games won't support it

I'm glad it is on smartglass, otherwise it might say my surface rt is not a tablet.

Metal Gear Solid 4 is still one of my favorite games online. Not really for the story mode, but for the strong Metal Gear Online.
