Square Enix has released a video revealing what you'll find in the Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII Collector's Edition box, from the slipcase, the artwork and enclosed book, to the other collectible gubbins, like the embossed pocket watch.

You can feast your eyes on the Collector's Edition announcement via this link, or you can simply see what's in the box via the list below, and of course the unboxing video at the bottom of the page.

Here's what you'll find in the Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII Collector's Edition, available to pre-order for $89.99:

  • 80-page hardcover art book with never-before-seen illustrations and early character sketches by Final Fantasy character designer Tetsuya Nomura
  • Silver embossed pocket watch
  • DLC code for Aerith Gainsborough's Final Fantasy VII Midgar Flower Girl outfit

Now here's Square Enix Product Manager Mat Kishimoto with the official Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII unboxing video. The game is out on February 11th in North America and February 14th in Europe.

Sounds like a cool collectors edition, but I haven't been excited for a final fantasy game in a long time.

After buying the Mass Effect 3 CE against my better judgement, I can say that I wouldn't buy another one. I don't want the assorted stuff that comes with it, I just want the game.

I'm somewhat tempted by the Aeris DLC though.

Anyway, I was planning on getting this straight away but I might leave it since my backlog is huge. I really enjoyed FF13 and 13-2 actually. Not as good as some FF games but still pretty good overall I felt.

Too bad the pocket watch has the cheap looking background for its clock face. Would have been so much nicer being plain white with Roman numeral numbers but hey maybe that's just me

In this day and age where almost everyone has an iPhone, who the fuck is gonna want a pocket watch? It would just sit around collecting dust.

All CE stuff sits around collecting dust unless it's DLC that people can use immediately. As such your post is invalid.

#7 thats the point of collectibles. they sit around collecting dust. in 10 years someone comes over, sees it and says "cool collectible, bro, ill give you $100 for it." and you give it to him for the benjamin cuz you paid $100 for the whole shebang.
