An alleged Xbox insider posting on NeoGAF has revealed a few nuggets of Forza Horizon 2 information that we're treating as pure rumour and speculation until Microsoft comes up with something official. According to the insider, the Horizon sequel will feature a"super sexy weather system."
That's just for starters. The informant also reckons that the open-world racer will also include "shit tons of co-op/social stuff... so you can road trip with your bros". The mystery gossiper also claims that the game will launch in "Fall 2014, probably September."
Also, if you care about such things, Forza Horizon 2 is said to run at a full 1080p resolution, if the insider's words are to be believed. This latest round of speculation follows recent rumours that Forza Horizon 2 is set for launch on Xbox One later this year, with supercar manufacturer Ultima stating it has "agreed a new contract" with Microsoft.
"We have also recently agreed a new contract with the Microsoft Corporation to be included in a new video game to be launched later in 2014. The Ultima [one of the firm’s cars] is proving to be very popular and is providing excellent worldwide publicity and recognition for our marque."
Ultima has had past ties with the Forza series, having had cars in both Forza Motorsport 4 and 5. It's thought that Playground Games could be back on development duties for Forza Horizon 2, should the rumours prove true. Microsoft has stated that it does not comment on rumour and speculation in response.
