Grand Theft Auto V has shipped a total of 32.5 million copies and is on track to become the best-selling (non-bundled) console game of all time.
Last we heard, Rockstar’s open-world crime caper had shifted 29 million units by the end of October, meaning that it has added 3.5 million in the subsequent three months.
The best-selling non-bundled console game of all time is currently Mario Kart Wii, at 34 million units. Even without the rumoured Xbox One, PS4 and PC versions, GTA V has that number well within its sights, especially when you consider that story-based DLC will no doubt notably boost that number.
Out of interest, the best-selling game of all time is Wii Sports, at a whopping 81.99 million copies.
Within a month of release, GTA V had already broken six Guinness World Records, including Best-selling Action-adventure Video Game in 24 hours, Best-selling Video Game in 24 hours, Fastest Entertainment Property to Gross $1 billion, Fastest Video Game to Gross $1 billion, Highest Grossing Video Game in 24 hours, Highest Revenue Generated by an Entertainment Product in 24 Hours and Most Viewed Trailer for an Action-adventure Video Game.
Best Selling Non-Bundled Console Video Game of All Time will be a nice addition to the list (though let's hope they can come up with a pithier title).
