Borderlands 2's Next DLC Coming in Time For Valentine's Day

Gearbox has announced that the penultimate DLC for Borderlands 2 will be hitting in time for Valentine's Day, and will be another themed Headhunter episode like TK Baha's Bloody Harvest, The Horrible Hunger of the Ravenous Wattle Gobbler and How Marcus Saved Mercenary Day.

This upcoming Valentine's Day themed episode is called Mad Moxxi and the Wedding Day Massacre, and is the fourth instalment in the Headhunter series. This particular episode revisits the feud between the Hodunks and Zafords seen in the main game's Clan Wars mission, and asks that Moxxi and the Vault Hunters collect ingredients for a love potion to ensure that a Hodunk/Zaford Goliath marriage goes off without a hitch.

You'll be able to pick up Mad Moxxi and the Wedding Day Massacre for $2.99 on February 11th, 2014, before the  fifth Headhunter pack and final Borderlands 2 DLC 'Sir Hammerlock and the Son of Crawmerax' arrives in April. Both will include boss battles and a head for your Vault Hunter as a reward. Check out IGN's exclusive video below if you fancy spoiling a bit of Mad Moxxi and the Wedding Day Massacre.

It amazes me how they are still pumping out interesting DLC for this over a year later. Developers could learn from gearbox

Wish they would throw some achievements in these. The game is still shy of 2k. Wondering when a game other than gears will hit that.

The Assault on Dragon's Keep was one of the best bits of DLC I have played for any game. Really good fun, a little bit silly, a few parody sections and a story that I actually thought was rather heartfelt.

I'll probably pick up a few more bits of DLC as I haven't got these yet.

Why did they release a Game of The Year edition if they aren't done with DLC?

@1 To be fair its 2K's highest selling game ever and the only Gearbox product at the moment that isn't tainted with a bad name. Of course they are going to be pumping out more.

I'll wait for all this stuff to be bundled. I've got the season pass so have the original 4 DLC packs, but haven't bought any DLC since. I'm sure the'll be discounted at some point.

No #1, developers should stray as far away from gearbox's example. Let's ignore that you all hate DLC for other games and go straight to the fact that borderlands is crap

@1: Agreed. They can learn how not to milk their games and how not to pawn off games to lesser developers and then claim they made the game themselves to screw people out of $60. There are a lot of things developers can learn not to do to customers from Gearbox.

@7: To milk people for more money, of course. They can get people who buy the GOTY edition to buy more DLC. And then later they can release another GOTY edition with all the extra DLC and sell even more copies.

This is getting close to CoD levels of milking, honestly. They're just doing it with DLC instead of full games. Maybe they can even do it again: release another GOTY with all the DLC so far this year and then pump out MORE DLC after that comes out so they can put out Bordlands 2 GOTY 3.0 the year after before pumping out more DLC the next year and so on and so on.

Borderlands 2 GOTY Editions for yearly release gogogo.

I haven't even fully maxed out (72..OP 8) any of my characters yet, nor finished the final story based DLC... This right here is excuse enough to dust this game off and get back into it..

But now my main problem is I still got over 100 full price games (disc and digital) to plough my way through..

So the Xbox One is still gonna be a loooong way off (Unless BL3 makes an appearance this year.. But I doubt it).

I lost interest in this title when my roommate and I got our OP8 DPUH's. I was really hoping some of the OP8 pearlescent weapons would be good. Hopefully with this new content update, they will either nerf DPUH, or add other weapons that are even in the same ballpark power-level-wise.

@14 - Yes, I really think it is time for Borderlands 3.

Considering that there were 3 years between the first two games and they're still working out DLC for BL2, I don't think it's time yet for BL3.

We all know what'll happen if Gearbox feels pressured to complete something.

This is how games should be supported post-launch. Not $15 for 3 maps you never see come up in MP lobbies. The amount of DLC for this game is too damn high..

..and we love every minute of it.

It's really great to see Gearbox supporting their game more than a year later, but what I really want is a next-gen Borderlands game. Hopefully they have at least a few people working on that.

Man, I don't mind waiting another two years, but I'd really like to see an 8th gen Borderlands 3.

I don't mind the $3 a pop. Played through the first headhunter since it was on sale recently...heard the other two were better so I planned on getting those as well. And now I hear there are two more? Right on. I really need to power level, haven't touched this game much since beating Tiny Tina and Bloody Harvest. I'm still only lvl 51 :(

Picked up Borderlands 2 GOTY yesterday for £10.00 from ASDA in the UK.

It includes the DLC up to 'Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep', which I believe is the last one that added gamerscore.

Bargain. Even if I probably won't get around to playing it for a while, still need to finish DLC on Borderlands 1. God damn it.
