State of Decay: Lifeline DLC Announced, Adds a New Map

Undead Labs has announced that its popular XBLA zombie survival game State of Decay is set to get a second DLC expansion, though details on what it'll entail are rather thin on the ground.

This one's called 'State of Decay: Lifeline' and adds a new map that's currently undergoing internal playtesting. It's early days for the DLC however, as the developer is unable to "discuss features or make promises".

Still, more State of Decay can never be considered a bad thing. We'll have more on State of Decay: Lifeline as it drops, hopefully including news on a release date. The DLC "will broaden your horizons by a few kilometers," according to Undead Labs. Nice.

Maybe it'll be multiplayer as well. We can only hope.

I bought this on DoTW and played few weeks back. Nothing groundbreaking, but a pleasurable romp nonetheless. More DLC would be nice as long as it's story centric.

Didn't expect to see/hear of another DLC for State of Decay this soon. It'll be nice if this actually has it's own story to it rather than just a new map to explore with all the previous characters.

@3 - I'm in the same boat, just picked it up a few weeks back. Have only gotten a few hours in, but I'm thoroughly enjoying it. And while maybe not ground breaking, it does take the zombie survival simulation in some interesting directions.

I thought the first DLC sounded super grindy but ended up being pretty enjoyable getting all the challenges done.

New area of the map? I'd take a guess that it takes place passed the Dam area in the "Story mode". Some of the backdrop areas look like an actual city with skyscrapers, which would be awesome!

@9, I seriously doubt that DLC is going to add a city area with skyscrapers, much as I'd love it. That is what I imagine the next-gen sequel will be, a whole city from skyscrapers to subway tunnels all open & full of zombies.

I'd have thought DLC will be relatively similar to what we already have in terms of playing world.

If this introduced co-op of some kind, I'd be back and all over this, I still hate how resource's dwindle when you don't play, meant you can't take a break from the game. :/

It's too much to hope it'd introduce co-op though.
