Captain Price will appear in Call of Duty: Ghosts as part of a set of new personalisation DLC, Infinity Ward has confirmed.

The news comes via Activision Community Manager One Of Swords, who says that the DLC is dropping on Tuesday, February 18th on Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

There are four themed personalisation packs; Circuit, Ducky, Inferno and Space Cats. Each includes a weapon camo, playercard, reticule and player patch. They’re $1.99.

In addition to this, a number of character skins are also being released, based on the Ghosts from the game’s single-player campaign. Keegan, Merrick, Elias, and Hesh each cost $1.99.

Next up is an Extra Slots Pack, which allows players to use 10 loadouts per squadmate instead of the standard six. That also costs $1.99.

Last up is the famous Captain Price himself. The Captain Price Legend Pack contains a character skin of the Modern Warfare series stalwart for use in multiplayer and squads matches. Also included in the pack is a weapon camo, a player background, a player patch, and a must ache reticle. It costs $3.99.

@ #2 you didn't like how they did it, but let me guess, you bought a pack or two? No one is forcing you to buy these nor does it give anyone an advantage….so who cares?

What's funny is how they're doing this again, and idiots will still support the game. Gotta love how people never learn...

These packs are good and all but its pathetic that it isn't at least included with the season pass. Also $2 for a character skin? Why buy a skin when wearing the free ghille suit gives you an advantage in the game.

To be honest, I don't see why people fall for microtransactions. These were never available to people previously. Look at the older games, they are great without microtransactions and this is the beginning of the downfall to gaming. Pretty soon, I'll buy a game, Assassin's Creed VIII, and it'll come with one area to explore, and the rest of the game will be microtransactions to purchase new areas to explore and more missions per area. Or it'll be a microtransaction for the area, and another one per mission for said new area...

@#7, So every company that makes a lot of money should give out stuff for free? OT, these skins looks pretty lame.

I never minded buying anything before but it's like watching tv, if you don't like it, you don't watch it. If you don't want the skins or other stuff, don't buy it. What gets me is that older games(mw, mw2, bo, etc.) do not lower the price of their content even when you can purchase the game for cheaper than the content costs. I bought hydro thunder hurricane for 5 bucks awhile back but it sucks when in game content almost never goes on sale even when the games popularity has diminished.

@#9 On that note, before MS came up with Xbox and started charging for DLC somewhere down the line, us PC gamers could enjoy devs supporting their games for free for a year or more after game released. We didn't have to pay penny, and we could create our own content. Enter video games and you can see how they have been destroying gaming as a whole for many years, not since microtransations started but ages before then...

@13 - I completely agree, $2 is such a nominal amount no one should complain.

@9: You must think micro-transactions are new. They're not, they've been around for years but no one reported on them. For example, Tales of Vesperia has micro-transactions and it doesn't take away from the game (as they're items or level up packs you can do normally through regular play). I doubt a full retail game would turn into buying each individual area (maybe if it was a F2P game but a full retail game wouldn't turn that way).

Honestly, I thought it was odd to have six custom class sets in the game instead of ten, I should have smelled right away that they'd bring it up to the normal number via microtransaction. You know why microtransactions fucking suck? Because of things like the extra class pack. Something that really should have been in the game to begin with, but no, they chopped it down so that fools would shell out for it by the hundreds of thousand, $2 for each of the, let's say, 400,000 people that are going to buy it, and that's on top of the estimated 800,000 that are going to buy every single DLC pack at $15 a pop, and that's on top of the millions of copies the core game sold at anywhere between $40 and $60. The money-grubbiness of Activision is absolutely out of control, and if you're arguing with me about it, you're blind.

AKI is the company that teamed up with THQ to make the real high-quality wrestling games on the 64; for WCW, it was World Tour and Revenge, and for the WWF(E), it was WrestleMania 2000 and No Mercy. They changed they corporation name to Syn Sophia a few years back, and they listed their annual revenue last year as 10 million yen, translating to about $100,000. On the YEAR. Know how much Activision made last year? $4.8 billion. No company in possession of more than a billion dollars deserves the right to nickel-and-dime their customers. It's a buck stolen from people too dumb to realize that they're paying for shit that should have existed in the game in the first place. Downvote me all you want, I don't give a flying fuck. Ten custom classes have been standard since I started playing Call of Duty with the original Modern Warfare in 2007, and possibly even the games before that, which I don't know anything about because I bought my Xbox FOR Modern Warfare. I gave away my copy of Ghosts so I didn't have to think about it, but anybody that really thought about the fact that there were only six custom classes per character could have seen this coming, though I'd wish to hell they were wrong.

Don't give Activision any more money for shit like that, but I know I'm wasting energy saying it because people are going to flock to it and Activision will never even realize anybody ever disagreed with it. But it's sleazy. You guys should see it.
