Update Major Nelson has confirmed that the February system update is rolling out for Xbox One right now, adding the controller battery indicator, storage management, install lineup control and USB keyboard support.
The Major also offers the following tip for calling up the battery indicator on the dashboard: "Once you get the update, you can press the Xbox button to see the battery indicator on screen in the lower right next to the clock."
Now you know.
Original Story Originally promised for February 11th, Xbox One's first proper system update is still nowhere to be seen, and Microsoft is remaining tight-lipped on an ETA for the patch. So where is it? Larry 'Major Nelson' Hyrb confirmed that "as soon as I get more information from my engineering team, I'll share".
"I don't have all the details," Hyrb claimed on Reddit. "Things are moving quickly and all the teams are working extra hard. I don't really like giving dates either. Too risky."
The February update is scheduled to bring with it a battery indicator for your controller, HDD storage management, USB keyboard support and the ability to control your install lineup. It's set to release ahead of another major update in March, set to implement an array of improvements to Xbox One's multiplayer and parties.
"We've got a lot of great stuff in store for Xbox One. It took years for the Xbox 360 to become a mature, feature laden platform. We've got the same long game planned for the Xbox One," Major Nelson added.
