505 Games launched Serellan's Takedown: Red Sabre on the Xbox Live Arcade yesterday, bringing the tactical shooter to the Games Store for download.

"Fight smart in lethal close-quarter tactical combat. Non-linear environments mean engagements change every time you play. Tactics and realism rule the day," reads the store blather.

You can snap up Takedown: Red Sabre via XBLA for £11.99/$14.99. Add it to your download queue here, and get the launch trailer below.

[Thanks, Himalay]

I believe the Trial lets you play one map, Singleplayer Tango Hunt which I don't think gives you any A.I. team.

Game has always been more aimed to the Multiplayer so surprised you can't play for like an hour or two online during the trial.

If this is identical to the one on steam, it is the worst game I have ever played! Absolutely terrible! Weren't worth the 4 quid I spent on it on steam.

£11.99 for a broken unfinished game. You can grab this on Steam for £1.19! #justsaying

The heads up is much appreciated, I was considering this one after seeing it pop up today. I will definitely try the demo first.

@4 - This isn't twitter. Stop adding hashtags to things you say, it makes you look like a jackass.
Just saying.

Unfortunately, the game is quite a disappointment. I was looking forward to this a bit but probably should've tried Steam version first myself. The robot-A.I. being the main problem.

Like Rekoil, this game is yet another example of a concept that sounds great on paper - a hardcore, tense, extremely tactical shooter which requires thought and precision - but flops like a warm turd in terms of execution.

Perhaps my biggest problem with the game is the movement. It's fucking HORRIBLE (!), and unless you've experienced it (or something similar) yourself, you'll never know how off-putting and game-ruining it is. There are two positions you can stand in - standing and crouching - and both have really loose-feeling movement. It's, like, you know exactly where you want to go and how to get there, but the game is trying to hold you back and make it as difficult as possible to physically get there. Because of this, there's no guarantee that if you spot and enemy (or an enemy spots you), you'll be able to get to a good position to kill them or defend yourself while your IDIOT A.I. teammates take care of them. Which they won't. Ever. Because they clearly have mental problems and are wearing blindfolds.

There's much more, but fuck it. I'm done with this shit :P.

Fuck this game, and fuck interesting concepts that completely fail in execution.

xx

After the shitfest that was Rekoil, I'm staying well away from this.

Speaking of Rekoil, I still have to review that, but it's going to be difficult reviewing an Online only Multiplayer Game if the Lobbies are empty.

As for this, they clearly haven't learnt from the failure that was Rekoil, as they've given it the same price!

Someone needs to just remake Rainbow Six: Raven Shield. One of the best tactical shooters of all time IMO.
