I seriously can't wait to finally play this. So pumped.Monday, March 03, 2014 @ 01:22 PM
All because of Aussies and Germans probably :/Monday, March 03, 2014 @ 01:24 PM
I don't understand why Ubisoft censored this, South Park has been around for a long time and has all ways been offensive.(It's kind of it's thing) No one buying this game is buying it with the idea it isn't going to be offensive. If it needed to be censored to get past certification I could understand, but the publisher decided to censer the game is really odd to me.Monday, March 03, 2014 @ 01:24 PM
Meh I'd have much preferred the censored content. I hope to see Ubisoft reporting loses equal to EA after this. I'll content myself to wait for a second hand copy so none of my money goes to Ubisoft.Monday, March 03, 2014 @ 01:34 PM
@4 That's the right attitude lol :DMonday, March 03, 2014 @ 01:43 PM
@2 don't blame us we didn't ask for thisMonday, March 03, 2014 @ 01:44 PM
Censored....! i won't buy this game! F*** Ubi!Monday, March 03, 2014 @ 01:45 PM
@3 it was either censor it or be denied a rating so they couldn't sell in Europe or other regions so they decided on censoring itMonday, March 03, 2014 @ 01:47 PM
for us in the uk i think this is a sign we should leave europe all together, screw the economic and immigration issues this is far more importantMonday, March 03, 2014 @ 01:49 PM
@2 since when is Australia in Europe? If you want to see a cartoon getting anally penetrated so bad, picture is in the article cockhead.Monday, March 03, 2014 @ 01:53 PM
First, not Ubisoft's fault, they have no control over censorship laws. Second, hope someone uploads the missing scene to Youtube.Monday, March 03, 2014 @ 01:56 PM
You can go into an airport and shoot hundreds of innocent people dead in a video game but you cant show poorly animated alien probing? The level of hypocrisy is unfathomable.Monday, March 03, 2014 @ 02:19 PM
@11 : From what I read here, on the other news, it seems they censored it themelves, to avoid potentials problems, which would mean no one asked them to remove the scenes yet. If that's the case, then yes, it's their fault. But maybe the game don't have a 18+ rating, I suppose? Because, if yes, it would have been useless to censor it. The "problematic" mission in Modern Warfare 2 wasn't censored in most countries. You just had a warning message saying that the mission could shock people (or something like that) and then the game asked you if you wanted to play it or avoid it.Monday, March 03, 2014 @ 02:26 PM
@11 it is Ubisoft's fault, the rating body for the UK said about it “Let me emphasise that we did not censor or edit the game in any shape or form.” http://www.vg247.com/2014/02/27/south-park-we-did-not-censor-or-edit-the-game-in-any-shape-or-form-says-ratings-body/Monday, March 03, 2014 @ 02:28 PM
@12 Absolutely right, and also on the Box it shows quite clearly pegi 18 so what's the problem, who are they trying to protect Adults?Monday, March 03, 2014 @ 02:44 PM
@4 it was a requirement for release in the countries. Not ubisofts fault....Monday, March 03, 2014 @ 02:46 PM
In France, hard-core horror movies like Inside or Martyrs are allowed for 16 year olds because the goverment considers them art, in Austria, Czech Republic, Spain, Italy etc. there are regulations for violence in video games and movies, but the worst that could happen is that violent games get a "advertisment-ban", meaning adults can still buy these games, but the publishers are not allowed to show ads for them (just like with tabacco for example). Now Germany...THAT's another pair of shoes. They censor, put games on the index and don't allow ADULTS to buy games and movies they want to see. Germany is really the only country that has this. Now Ubisoft, did you really censor this game because of ONE country????Monday, March 03, 2014 @ 02:46 PM
If they didn't censor it, Europe wouldn't have even gotten the game at all, so stop with the bitching and be thankful europe is still getting the game, just go watch the cut scene on youtube if you need it that badlyMonday, March 03, 2014 @ 02:48 PM
Oh and by the way, there is not ONE "european version". The brits have their PEGI system, Austria and Germany have USK-versions, and I bet France, Spain and so on have their own versions and rating systems.Monday, March 03, 2014 @ 02:54 PM
It's not funny, it's insulting. Just waiting on playas is to update the status of any region locks. Worst case scenario, I will buy the US version for the PS3. But I will buy it used. Fuck you Ubisoft!!!Monday, March 03, 2014 @ 02:59 PM
@ 8, 11, 16 & 18 Erm yes it is ENTIRELY down to Ubisoft. Do just a tiny bit research on the matter and you'll find that UBISOFT made the decision to censor the game not so that could get a rating but purely because they thought it would sell more to make them more money. See the link in #14 comment or any of the other number of articles on itMonday, March 03, 2014 @ 03:00 PM
@18 but they didn't even try to get it through the ratings board - they just pussied out. And are you saying tat I should be thankful to ubisoft? They can get bent for all I care. Assholes.Monday, March 03, 2014 @ 03:04 PM
Anyone know yet if the NTSC/American release of this on xbox is region free yet ? Been looking everywhere to find out due to having no interest in playing a censored version. I live in New Zealand and the ubisoft NZ rep says we are getting a uncut/uncensored version but I don't believe him.Monday, March 03, 2014 @ 03:05 PM
Lol hehehe I cancelled this game now since it is censored in UK and Europe. No support Ubisoft for this game from me. Thank you for ruined Europe and UK. Plenty games this month like InFamous: Second Son, Yoshi's New Island, Titanfall, Shovel Knight, Ballpoint Universe, Armillo, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z, Dead Nation and more. :)Monday, March 03, 2014 @ 03:09 PM
I don't mind to be honest. I'm just excited for this game. Maybe they'll patch this in the future and amend these scenes considering that 'Anal Probing' was in the Pilot episode & they had an episode in where Mountain Lion Cubs performed an Abortion... Those episodes both aired on UK telly with a 15 rating.Monday, March 03, 2014 @ 03:11 PM
I suspect there will be an influx of anal probing crime in the US because of this. Of course, they'll blame video games for all the problems.Monday, March 03, 2014 @ 03:14 PM
@20 Has nothing to do with ubisoft...blame the governmentMonday, March 03, 2014 @ 03:16 PM
Ubisoft EMEA decided to censor the game AFTER it had passed through PEGI with an uncensored 18 rating. “The game was assessed by us and deemed acceptable for a PEGI 18 rating,” the rep began. “For some games released in the UK, we are obliged to consider UK legislation as it currently affects video games (the Video Recordings Act 2010.) This consideration applies to games which are likely to attain a PEGI 12, 16 or 18 rating and which may contain potentially harmful or illegal material. As there was no such issue with the game, it was duly given its PEGI 18.Monday, March 03, 2014 @ 03:16 PM
The Australian censor is far better since it has a crying koala in the censor scene. And seriously, stop whining. You don't want it censored? Buy the PC version. 100% censor free in Europe.Monday, March 03, 2014 @ 03:19 PM
@19 and all that don't know that: We here in AUSTRIA have PEGI and not USK. The poor Germans have to deal with USK.Monday, March 03, 2014 @ 03:33 PM
@17 I live in Australia and my friend made me watch this horror movie while watching most the time I turned my chair around and put my headphones in I was unhappy never had to turn away from a movie before the first half of the movie was full detail of a group of guys raping this one women I have no idea why that movie was made it was messed up yet they censored a shitty south park clipMonday, March 03, 2014 @ 03:39 PM
What I don't get that that scene was shown in some European trailers for the game. And in TV spots in the day time even. *Facepalm*Monday, March 03, 2014 @ 03:43 PM
It really pisses me off that they censored. I want the game but don't wish to support Ubi's actions. Maybe I'll hold off and get another game; shame really.Monday, March 03, 2014 @ 03:47 PM
I believe this game is not censored on PC, regardless of the region you're in. I don't think you need top level pc to be able to enjoy the game, so as an alternative, you can buy the PC version instead.Monday, March 03, 2014 @ 04:05 PM
And it's exactly a part of the trailer they cut out of the game, someone should sue for false advertisement.Monday, March 03, 2014 @ 04:39 PM
That is pretty funny. At least they know how to make a joke of it and to be honest, looking at actual picture of what the scene looks like, I can't see what the issue is with it. Do you all like scenes when men are probed anally? You need to get a new hobby+DMonday, March 03, 2014 @ 04:58 PM
That's hella lameMonday, March 03, 2014 @ 05:06 PM
This is horrendous... let us see!!!Monday, March 03, 2014 @ 05:13 PM
@27 Jesus fucking Christ man, READ THE FUCKING ARTICLE!!!! It is 1000000% ubisoft. I realise that it is impossible to be more than 100% responsible, but in this case I make an exception.Monday, March 03, 2014 @ 05:16 PM
Why are you idiots blaming Ubisoft, it's obviously the countries laws that force the censoring.Monday, March 03, 2014 @ 05:30 PM
Hopefully it gets readded in a patch. And Everyone saying it's for rating. Ubisoft did it for marketing raesons. IE To not scare off peopleMonday, March 03, 2014 @ 05:44 PM
can someone please explain to me why this juvenile shit is supposed to be funny? im 27 and feel like south park was on during a prime time where i shouldve been enjoying it but i just dont get whats so funny about poop or farts or anally raping a grown man with..whatever that isMonday, March 03, 2014 @ 06:00 PM
@40 are you for real!? Nobody forced them to censor it - be sure of your information before you go calling people idiots as the only thing you've achieved there is making yourself look like a proper plebMonday, March 03, 2014 @ 06:02 PM
The US is lacking in a lot of areas, but at least I can console my self with the fact that the censorship laws are non existent outside public mediums like radio and television. Movies and games can pretty much do whatever as long as they get a rating.Monday, March 03, 2014 @ 06:06 PM
Now we know why the game got delayed over a year not to put in more content but to take it outMonday, March 03, 2014 @ 06:14 PM
@44 You must be joking right? "Movies and games can pretty much do whatever as long as they get a rating."?? Ever wondered why there is so little nudity and/or sex in video games? Because of all-american religious zealots, and the existing double standart - "you can cut a tit off, but you can't kiss it" - that saying fits to all of American media, movies, TV, videogames, you name itMonday, March 03, 2014 @ 06:38 PM
Some people need to find better things to complain about. So a small scene's been removed? Big deal, hardly going to make the game any worse or better. As much as it maybe is Ubisofts decision, it will only be to pre-empt censorship problems in certain countries in order to get an already massively delayed game out.Monday, March 03, 2014 @ 06:52 PM
Fuck ubisoft! not buying this now, censored? what the fuck! don't care how funny it isMonday, March 03, 2014 @ 06:53 PM
sorry, i meant fuck europe and this stupid shitMonday, March 03, 2014 @ 06:53 PM
@#46 Always made me wonder as well. How in US it is OK to show gruesome scenes of murders/war/beating and such, but it's not ok to show little skin as it would mess up kids worse than seeing someone murdered on TV... US logic in it's prime I guess...Monday, March 03, 2014 @ 06:57 PM
@Miikesmama #19 Austria has the PEGI system, we're not forced to buy that USK bullshit. @thread Whats the deal with the game ? South Park has been like this for almost 16 years ??? Hope to get a region-free US retail...Monday, March 03, 2014 @ 07:18 PM
@46 There is a lot of sex in video games, and full nudity is also been present. Grand Theft Auto, Dante's Inferno, and others. There was no ban, they were allowed. Just because companies don't make it, doesn't mean it is banned. Same with movies. Most movies come out with unrated versions that show a lot of nudity, male and female. Like I said, outside of the public services like radio and television, there is no censorship by law. If you feel like there is not enough sex/nudity in video games, you should petition the developers and publishers, as it is fully allowed. Even hardcore sex scenes are allowed, they just get the Adult rating, which Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft themselves refuse to allow. Nothing to do with legislation.Monday, March 03, 2014 @ 07:29 PM
wow glad i dont live in a country that censors my video games lolMonday, March 03, 2014 @ 08:02 PM
@41 Why would they need to censor a South Park game to market it? NEWS FLASH, the people who will be buying this game are South Park fans, like myself, who know what they're getting themselves into. We have been shown Anal Probing and Abortions in multiple episodes of the show, and we still enjoy it, why would we have a problem with any of this been in a South Park game? Ubisoft are shooting themselves in the foot with this decision, the Censored scenes where accepted, the only thing that had to be removed was the Nazi Swastika for the German release, otherwise it was good to go. Everyone I know who was getting this has now canceled there pre-order for the game. There was no reason for this move, other than Ubisoft are dicks.Monday, March 03, 2014 @ 08:20 PM
@50. Its funny because its the opposite in mainland Europe; Less violence and more 'sexual expression'.Monday, March 03, 2014 @ 08:33 PM
LOL, saw this on a Twitch stream. But yeah, i'm so fucking reayd for this game. 3 years is to much waiting!Monday, March 03, 2014 @ 09:44 PM
I know we can watch a dude get raped but can't see a nipple with a pasty over it. superbowl wardrobe malfunction. People need to grow up and own what they watch and stop blaming everyone elseMonday, March 03, 2014 @ 10:10 PM
@34 The PC version is only censored in Australia.Monday, March 03, 2014 @ 10:18 PM
A lot of gay people here wanting to watch a cartoon man get anal probed huh?Tuesday, March 04, 2014 @ 01:54 AM
WTF, EU censoring, man how I miss US. :(Tuesday, March 04, 2014 @ 09:34 AM
@63 I don't think it's about seeing that. I think it's the simple fact that these people who are buying this game for 60$ are not getting there full experience because certain Parts are took out. and again it has nothing to do with ubisoft, they put it in the game for you to see it. Some countries don't want you seeing that. So in order for ubisoft to make money they had to take so stuff out. It's the government's fault.Tuesday, March 04, 2014 @ 11:31 AM
I know I should have known better, but can we get a NSFW notification on this. I probably shouldn't be looking at pictures of cartoon men being buggered by machines at work (I probably shouldn't be fannying about on this site in general either but I think it'd be easier to explain).Tuesday, March 04, 2014 @ 12:29 PM
Does this count european countries that is not in the European Union? such as Norway?Tuesday, March 04, 2014 @ 01:26 PM
Times like these make me proud to be an American.Tuesday, March 04, 2014 @ 02:45 PM
@9 You can always join the US. Hell, we're practically related now. Shit economies, corrupt politicians, unfair wages, ridiculous taxes, inflated prices on everything. Yup, we're 2 peas in the same pod. Let's merge countries and call ourselves USUK!Tuesday, March 04, 2014 @ 03:11 PM
@63 - The Aussies are getting this version. Ubisoft are being cheap and doing as few localisations as possible, hence all of Europe, Australia, New Zealand and I think some other territories all getting this build.Tuesday, March 04, 2014 @ 06:09 PM
I really don't understand the 'OMFG 2 minute censored not buy!' people. Like, you're that passionate about anti-censorship that it completely changes your mind? I just thought 'that's a shame oh well it's only 2 and a half minutes I can watch on YouTube if I get really desperate'.Tuesday, March 04, 2014 @ 06:11 PM
And after reading #14's link, I believe Ubisoft censored it for marketing reasons. Look at the uproar it's caused. It's caused controversy and controversy brings media attention which in turn brings higher sales.Wednesday, March 05, 2014 @ 02:47 PM
Ubisoft is giving us the middle finger. Lets give it them back by not buying this game. If they expirence poor sales, they will put the cut content back in via a patch. I still can't get my head around why they've done this. It's eqivelent to the next Mass Effect game being set in 1500s.Wednesday, March 05, 2014 @ 10:55 PM
my Aunty Nevaeh recently got Mitsubishi by working online... you can check here http://www.lock90.comSaturday, March 08, 2014 @ 12:52 AM

The European version of South Park: The Stick of Truth has had content removed, necessitating the use of screens that explain the missing sequence.
One of these screens has been leaked and it’s funny.
Captured by Reddit user DutchAmerican93, who received a copy of the game early, the image shows a picture of a face palming statue along with the words:
“You lose again, Europe. This scene, where you try to disable the forcefield around Randy but instead accidentally force the probing machine next to him to probe his ass with violent force, is not meant for your eyes.
“Randy, in obvious rectal pain, urges you to proceed onwards.”
See? Funny! Though I dunno why I just typed all that out because you can see it below. I've also embedded an image of the removed content below that but close your eyes if you're European yeah?
South Park is out this week. We’ll have a review soon. For more on the removed content, click through here.
