Ridley Scott will executive produce a Halo 'digital feature project' in collaboration with 343 Industries and Xbox Entertainment Studios.
At least, that’s according to sources at The Wrap. They’ve published a report claiming that the project is due for release later this year, produced by the Alien and Blade Runner director alongside Scott Free TV president, David Zucker.
Making the news even more juicy, it’s claimed that Sergio Mimica-Gezzan will direct. Mimica-Gezzan previously directed episodes of the ace Battlestar Galactica and has acted as first assistant director on films like Schindler's List, Saving Private Ryan, Minority Report, A.I. and Independence Day.
According to the report, the series is unrelated to the project announced by Steven Spielberg during E3 2013 and will follow the format of previous live-action Halo mini-series, Forward Unto Dawn.
Also like Forward Unto Dawn, Master Chief will not be the lead protagonist.
It’s believed that Microsoft will announce more details about the project at E3 in June.
