Activision has announced Skylanders: Trap Team, the latest title in the series from Spyro's Adventure and Skylanders Giants dev, Toys for Bob. This one will see the introduction of more than 50 new Skylanders, including new core characters and unique Trap Masters.

Trap Team will also make use of miniature 'Traptanium' trap accessories that plug into a new Traptanium Portal, enabling you to ensnare villains and play as them at any time. There'll be eight traps - each representing the game's eight elements - with a variety of elemental baddies to collect.

Skylanders: Trap Team will be available as a Starter Pack, bundling the game with the new portal, two Skylanders figures - Snap Shot and Food Fight - and the life and water traps. It'll be coming to Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4, Wii U, Wii and 3DS on October 5th in North America and on October 10th in Europe.

You'll find images of the Skylanders: Trap Team Starter Pack, as well as Snap Shot, Food Fight and Wallop figurines below. There's also a few illustrations of the characters, including flying dinosaur, Chopper. You can also check out our first look preview here and get the first screenshots here.

  • As a parent I think this will be what my wallet would say if it could... AAARRRGGGGGGHHHHH
  • They are milking the crap out of this series, but I will still buy it for some reason. Will never buy more characters that shit will make you broke.
  • Cash cow
  • People say they are Milking the series and getting annoyed yet pokemon does it too not as often but still they keep adding characters every couple of years but people don't complain about that. Though in the case of this yes they over charge for figures and the fact this requires another new portal is utter bullshit
  • @ #4 $39.99 every 3 years or so > $79.99+ every year. Plus Pokemon offers a lot more bang for your buck.
  • @4 LMAO comparing Pokemon to Skylanders. Give me the keys you're obviously drunk.
  • @4- Seriously your comparing a game that is $40 (maybe once every two years vs a game that is $80 every year, requires a new portal with every new game, and $10 figure. By any chance, is your name Bobby Kotick? OT- this is exactly why I don't please this game. $70 a year with new figures and requires a new portal every year. I am almost tempted by the Disney Infinity now that they have announced Marvel characters. But will never buy Skylanders.
  • The game is more comparable to League of Legends than Pokemon. You can play and complete the game with what you're given, but if you want the extra stuff, you need to pay.
  • What is that wallet? steam sales and skylanders is slowly killing you? Sorry I can't hear you over all these games and characters I have to have but barely play with!
  • I dont even play this but LOL @ people complaining about Skylanders being "milked". This is one of those things that were MADE to be expanded upon constantly over time.
  • I've yet to buy any of these figure collecting games, but depending on how he new Disney Infinity is made, I might relent for the addition of Marvel content. If it also has Star Wars content then I'll almost be forced to buy it.
  • @5,6,7 for your information there is actually to date 52 pokemon games. You obviously don't know as much as you might think about how pokemon is milked. Then they have the trading card game which they release 4 sets a year @£3.50 a pack for 10 cards the sets usually have 100-150 cards to collect with about 5 of those cards having a 1 in 36 packet chance of appearing you need to spend an utter fortune to complete sets. Yes pokemon releases at £40 a game but they relase 2 of the same game with a few differences so real collectors want both. They also then release a crossover version a year down the line which merges them. They have also re released every game well are up to ruby emerald but they are doing it. They then have pokemon subscription services like pokemkn bank which is the only way to get your old pokemon into your new game. So yes Nintendo IS milking pokemon
  • @ #12 Clutching at straws much? From your original post you were comparing core game to core game now it's suddenly anything that's been released that has Pikachu's face on it? I think you forgot to mention kid's clothing, bed spreads, pencil cases, colouring in books, etc.
  • @12- First of all yes, there are a lot of Pokemon games (not 52 though), but the game has been out for almost 20 years. And Game Boy games were not $40. Skylanders has been out for what, 3 years and already has three games plus a fourth one announced. Each with its Own mandatory portal ($70 each bundle). Plus you have to buy figures for it for around $10 each. If you bought all that they had for one game, you could have probably bought an XBox One. Secondly, don't know why you wanted to point out that Pokemon has all kinds of non game things for sale when Skylanders offers just as much. It's kind of funny that you would attack Pokemon as a franchise Nintendo is milking when you could have just went with Mario since they release like 6 Mario games a year.
