Microsoft has reasserted its commitment to delivering a pre-loading feature for digital games on Xbox One.
Speaking on Reddit, Xbox Live director of programming Larry “Major Nelson” Hyrb responded to an enquiry about pre-loading by saying, "All I can say right now is that yes, we want this feature as well.”
Last year, prior to the launch of the Xbox One, former Xbox executive Mark Whitten said that pre-loading was on the company’s to-do list, but did not outline a timeline for the feature, beyond saying that it wouldn’t be ready for launch.
Digital pre-loading enables users to download and install a game before it is released. The feature allows buyers to begin playing their purchased game as soon as it is officially released, without having to wait for time-consuming download and install times.
So basically, if a game comes out at midnight pre-loading allows you to begin playing immediately.
