Focus Home Interactive and developer Spiders Studio have released a handful of new Bound by Flame screenshots today, ahead of the game's impending launch next week. In the new images, there's a look at some of the companions you'll be able to enlist on your quest, and some of the demonic creatures you'll encounter and battle.
"Companions are real assets in combat and will prove crucial in the more advanced difficulty modes. Consider carefully who you want to fight alongside you, and combine their skills and your own abilities to achieve a flawless combat synergy, but remember to bear the nature of enemies you are confronting in mind!", says the accompanying press release. "Each companion fulfils a specific role and has talents and attributes that are unique to them."
Companions include Randval the warrior (image 1), who excels in hand-to-hand combat, helping divert opponents in battle. Then there's young mage Sybil (image 2), whose ranged attacks provide helpful support in battle, as do her special healing skills. Edwen the witch (image 3) wields powerful dark and mystical arts, devastating foes with long distance spells, as well as taking over their minds and turning them against their allies.
Rhelmar the elf (image 4) can rain arrows on enemies, leaving your fire demon possessed hero free to charge in to the melee, and finally, there's the ancient undead Mathras (image 5), who has mastered the art of swordsmanship for thousands of years, and like Edwen, can turn enemies against one another. Check out the companions you'll be forging friendships with in the pics below.
Bound by Flame will be coming to Xbox 360, PS3, PS4 and PC on May 9th, 2014.
