Amid confusion as to whether The Amazing Spider-Man 2 would be surfacing on Xbox One at all, the movie tie-in is actually now available on Microsoft's next-gen console, but only for digital download via the Xbox Games Store, in both North America and the UK/Europe.

As for a retail release on Xbox One, that's still currently list as either 'TBC 2014' on UK retailer GAME or for May 8th, 2014 on GameStop.com in North America. It's still on the cards if you're after a boxed version of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 then, but you'll have to wait a little longer.

Otherwise, you can download The Amazing Spider-Man 2 for Xbox One in North America for $59.99 and in the UK for £49.99. Look! There's some new launch screenshots below.

  • £49.99?! No thanks!
  • I got the 360 version for £38 on Wednesday. Very short game, not worth the £49.99 :/
  • £49.99. When will they learn?!?!
  • Wtf is the reason for this? It's just a movie game and I don't really care, but curious none the less.
  • I watched a players gameclip of this on X1 and was not impressed
  • i got this on pc, annnnnnnnnnnnd it seems a step back from the last one , which i enjoyed, the hero menace thing is just down right annoying as the stage im at now your constantly racing to get to the next event which seems to end just as you get there, and you have to do them otherwise you just get swarmed by the stupid robots... its also hit and miss with the stealth, most missions iv done so far include a pointless peter parker bit, then being in some hideout and trying to get to a machine to get a new suit.. the random events are all pretty much the same too and not so random, as in you have to go to a certain icon to do it and the bomb ones seem to give you no time at all , and the fire ones dont really give you an idea on what your meant to be doing or where your going, i feel these events should be actually random and with more variety. really is a shamble of a game and the graphics are pretty messy too and thats running at top end on a PC so god knows what console versions are gonna be like, glad i didnt pay £50 like i was going to.
  • I don't get why Microsoft think it's a good marketing strategy to charge more than everywhere else. The fact it's downloaded cuts cost for them. They don't have to pay to package nor do they have to lower there cut for the middle man (the retailers). Rightfully it should be cheaper than everywhere else, if only to compensate for not being able to trade it in when you're finished with it. Look at services like Steam, they are hugely popular and the main reason is 'COMPETITIVE PRICING', two words Microsoft need to become familiar with.
  • The game is absolutely dreadful anyway, not like anyone would buy it at that price also.
  • I hope this isin't microsofts new tactic to try and get people to go digital like they want so dearly.. Make it available on digital then 'unable' to confirm a release date for disc version, i HOPE im wrong, but nothing with ms suprises me anymore
  • YOU WANKERS!! IM SO JEALOUS!!! Hope you guys like the game :D
  • As number 1 said, £50 no thanks
  • Untill i looked at the paycheck for £1, i didn't believe, that my sister was whoring herself part time from her labtop. Also her best friend stuffed carrots into her butthole, for less than 13 months and payed off her crack dealer and bought a garden gnome. Visit www.spammingspaminacan.com. Seriously admin, cant you ban this person and accounts that do this????
  • Just a FYI it's also marked as available May 9th on gamefly.
  • @7. I've been saying this for ages. Nintendo are the same.
  • Not sure if this has been mentioned but for the UK on Game's site the release date is now the 16th of May.
