From Software's hard as nails adventure Dark Souls II has shipped more than 1 million copies according to financial results reported by publisher Namco Bandai. Apparently 1.2 million copies shipped in North America and Europe, solely on Xbox 360 and PS3. The PC version doesn't come into the equation, as it launched following the financial year ending March 31st.
Dark Souls II was Namco Bandai's best performing title for its financial year, tracking only a little behind its predecessor in terms of numbers. As of April 2013, the first Dark Souls has sold over 2.3 million copies worldwide, but this particular figure includes the 'Prepare to Die' version with the 'Artorias of the Abyss' DLC and Japanese sales of the PS3 version. Globally, Dark Souls sold 1.3 million on Xbox 360 and PS3.
Other highlights for Namco Bandai included Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z shipping 620,000 units, God Eater 2 shipping 700,000 units in Japan for PS Vita and colourful PS3 brawler JoJo's Bizarre Adventure All-Star Battle shipping 550,000 in Japan.
Overall, the publisher's revenues were up, while profit was down, with ¥507 billion (£2.9 billion) in revenue and ¥25,054 (£145m) generated in profit. Namco Bandai's sales saw a 4.2% increase compared to last year, but profits fell by 22.6%.
