Insomniac has revealed the first proper screenshots for Sunset Overdrive, showing off the vibrant comic book colours of Sunset City and the impact of Fizzco's energy drink apocalypse, wherein the populous has been transformed into "zombie mutants" known as the 'OD'd'; the product of excessive consumption of Overcharge Delirium XT.
The shooter, which sees your protagonist wall running, mantling, grinding and leaping, boasts an emphasis on speed as you fill up your Style Meter. That means no ladders or needlessly slow obstacles to climb. "At some point, we decided there would be no ladders in the game - that was another big one for us," Insomniac's Marcus Smith told the Xbox News Wire.
You can get a load of the ten new Sunset Overdrive screenshots below, and get the latest on the game here. Sunset Overdrive is scheduled to come exclusively to Xbox One in fall this year, with more to be revealed at E3 2014 next month.
Update - A new first look gameplay trailer is now available to check out, offering an overview of story, factions, enemies, weapons (vinyl record launcher, bowling ball cannon, anyone?) and Amps - special abilities that can be equipped in character or weapon slots. Get the vid below.
