Fallout 4 is unlikely to be announced at E3 2014, if a tweet by Bethesda's vice president of PR and marketing is to be believed.
Responding to a fan enquiry on Twitter, Hines said, "1) I don't reallly pre-announce our announcements. 2) BGS will not be talking about its next game for a long time."
The news will come as a disappointment to many. Fallout 4 is long-awaited and ranks among the most desired reveals at this year's event.
The timing felt right too. Fallout 4 has long been rumoured to be in development at Bethesda, with some reports suggesting that the latest game in the post-apocalyptic RPG series will be set in Boston.
However, Hine's tweet is consistent with Bethesda game director and executive producer Todd Howard, who said in Febrary that, “We don’t [have a timeframe for our next game announcement], but I think it’s gonna be a while.
"We’ve gotten fairly used to all the questions and curiosity over the years. Everyone wants information. Right now, we’re just trying to figure out which of our ideas are going to stick and finding an appropriate time to talk about it.”
