Criterion will announce a new game at E3 in Los Angeles next week, say the latest reports.
According to Game Trailers, the new game will be showing during EA’s press conference on Monday, alongside "world premieres [of] nearly a half-dozen new games".
Those expecting a new Burnout or Need for Speed game will probably be out of luck. Last year, Creative Director Alex Ward said, “After over a decade of making racing games it's time to make something new.”
In January, when it was announced that Ward and Studio Director Fiona Sperry have left EA, the publisher revealed that Criterion is working on a new title for next-gen consoles.
"The incredibly creative and talented team at Criterion are hard at work on a new project for next-gen consoles as new IP continues to be a major priority across EA,” said the statement.
“Matt Webster is leading development of the new game and the Criterion studio moving forward. Matt has been part of Criterion for years and has an exciting vision for this new game.”
All eyes on L.A. next week then. What do you reckon the game is gonna be?
