EA and developer DICE have just shown a new vid for the new Mirror’s Edge, on stage in L.A. during its E3 2014 press conference.

Described as “elegant” and “minimalistic” in its look, with free-running used as a metaphor for Faith’s defiance in a controlled society, DICE says it is building on the original move set and allowing players to experiment with different paths through the environment.

There wasn’t much in the way of concrete new info, but DICE did say that they’re designing combat to play into Faith’s movement. So expect more jumping off roofs onto some poor dude’s face. ”Faith is a projectile,” said one of the devs.

We’ll update with the vid as and when.

  • This gonna release broken as fuck too?
  • Oh its only a mobile game? I was thinking it didn't look too impressive for a next gen game, but I guess it looks pretty good for a mobile game.
  • @2 you mean current gen right....? Idk if you know but this gen has been out for 6 months and next gen is many years off
  • @3 eurgh you serious.
  • Combat shouldn't feature in mirrors edge any more than it did. Faith isnt a ninja, shes a courier. If you run up to a machine-gun toting heavily armoured SWAT guy looking for you as a tank top clad runner, you should die. Quickly. They should focus on making the environments more open. Thats all that is needed. The movement in ME was already fantastic. The big letdown was that the levels were very linear. If you look at the DLC you can see what a huge effect multiple paths has. If they implemented that in a "real world" setting rather than abstract geometry it would be a 10/10
  • @2 The cover art image is just a place holder that they used from the WP ME game. This will be a console release.
  • Combat? Guh... the worst part of the first one. Just take it out, and for the love of Jesus, don't tack on MP.
