2K Games has announced that it's hired 'Happy' earworm creator Pharrell Williams to curate the soundtrack for NBA 2K15. Also known for his time as a founding member of N.E.R.D. and producing/creative collective The Neptunes, Pharrell has more recently struck out on his own, and now he'll be compiling the soundtrack for NBA 2K15.

“It was a cool experience. I tried to curate songs that were diverse but yet still proved to be motivational to gamers,” said Pharrell. “It was important to me that the music complemented the on-court action of NBA basketball in NBA 2K15. I hope everyone enjoys it.”

We'll enjoy it as long as we can switch off 'Happy', which will inevitably be included. It is inevitable, isn't it? Pharrell's other tunes include collaborations with Robin Thicke (whose last album famously sold 530 copies in the UK) and 'Get Lucky' with Daft Punk.

Pharrell's music selections for NBA 2K15 will be revealed in the run up to the game's launch on October 7th in North America and October 10th in Europe. Hey look! Cover art!
