Having announced Tekken 7 at EVO 2014, creator Katsuhiro Harada has moved to assure fans that Tekken X Street Fighter is still in the offing, echoing a similar reassurance he made almost a year ago. Speaking at Comic Con this weekend, Harada responded to a fan requesting news on the Tekken and Street Fighter mash-up.
The game is "still in development and it's still moving forward," said Harada, noting that the developer is looking for the right time to release the crossover title. Apparently, the game poses a challenge for marketing, but it is still coming; presumably sometime after Tekken 7 has shipped, whenever that may be.
"It is proceeding. It hasn't been cancelled, so please relax," Harada assured. First revealed in 2010, Tekken X Street Fighter will be the Tekken-centric take on the Namco/Capcom crossover, with Street Fighter X Tekken being the Capcom-developed Street Fighter-centric title, released in 2012.
