Destiny won't receive any "major changes" according to Activision CEO, Eric Hirshberg, thanks to immensely positive feedback gleaned from the recent beta. Hirshberg noted the success of the Destiny beta during Activision's financial conference call, held yesterday.
The Destiny beta was "both creatively and technologically, the biggest beta for this generation of consoles and the biggest beta ever for a new IP,” Hirshberg stated, citing almost universally positive feedback for the game. Bungie will continue to make tweaks to optimise Destiny, but no major changes to the game are planned.
"I would describe this as tweaks and not major changes, as we saw the fundamentals of the game to be very strong. And the good news is because we got 4.6 million players into the beta we were able to test the back-end in scale and it performed really well and stably," said Hirshberg. "We think we’re ready for a great launch with a great partner in Bungie."
Destiny is set to launch in just over a month's time on September 9th for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4 and PS3. Get all of our Destiny beta videos here.
