Square Enix has officially announced that Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition will indeed be heading to Xbox One, PS4 and PC, tagging the remastered game with an October release date. A remastered version of the 2012 game in which you play as undercover cop Wei Shen, Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition will include improved visuals and all of the previously released DLC.
That's all 24 pieces of downloadable content, from the myriad costume, weapon and vehicle add-ons, to the mini-missions and fully-fledged story add-ons like the horror-themed flight of fancy, Nightmare in North Point and story-extending episode Year of the Snake.
“It was an exciting opportunity for the original development team to be able revisit a game we’re so passionate about”, said Dan Sochan, Senior Producer at United Front Games. “We’re giving old and new fans a lot reasons to pick up the game, as we’ve gone beyond just increasing resolution and running at 1080p. We listened to the fans: we tuned gameplay, we added to the ambience of Hong Kong, increased audio fidelity and pushed the visuals further than we could on the previous generation of consoles.”
Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition will be returning to the seamy underbelly of its fictionalised Hong Kong, where you're never too far away from a pork bun vendor. You'll be looking like you could use a pork bun and infiltrating the Triads as Wei Shen, when Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition launches for Xbox One, PS4 and PC on October 10th in Europe and October 14th in North America.
