EA Sports will not release a public demo for Madden NFL 15 ahead of the game’s launch. It’s the first time this has happened in a bazillion years.*

The only way fans will be able to play the game ahead of release is through the publisher’s new EA Access service, which allows allows subscribers to play new titles in advance of launch.

"The difficult decision not to do a demo for Madden was strictly a result of the team's commitment to deliver the highest quality game possible," EA told IGN. "We chose to put 100 per cent of our development resources toward the full game."

Madden NFL 15 hits Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3 and PS4 in North America on August 26th and Europe on August 29th.

*It’s actually like 10-15 years.

  • Wasn't there talk a while ago about EA putting demos behind a pay wall? Looks like EA Access is it.
  • EA access should be full game trial for 5 days not a demo so they aren't making you pay for it.
  • demos are now behind paywalls greast idea EA - i shall not purchase it,
  • Damn Illuminati struck again!
  • I just wish they'd confirm Maddens "early access." If it's the two hour window I'm heading about I won't get EA Access. I believe it will be full game 5 days early and in that case I'm all in.
  • There is already a demo of Madden 15. It's called Madden 25. There's also an earlier demo. It's called Madden 13.
  • I wonder if NHL 15 will follow the same route. I hope not.
  • @1 There is no demo. It's not behind a paywall, because the demo doesn't exist. Its early access to the game.
  • People are surprised? Come on, haha. At the end of the day, it's not that bad. Pay £20 for a year, get over £100 worth of games up front and then early preview privileges on the side? It could be worse. It could be part of PS Now.
  • Doesn't bother me. It's a game I know I want, so I'll buy it as simple as. But with ea access now out, it doesn't surprise me at all. In the words of a wise man. And so it begins.
  • Do you need a demo? Just like Fifa/NHL series etc. the teams/rosters will have been updated and the core gameplay will be virtually unchanged from last years version. Basically if you like the game you'll be buying it anyway so no need for a demo for you. If your undecided on the game then EA has made the choice for you. No demo so you can't try it and therefore won't buy it. IF other franchises like FIFA / NHL follow suit then it would appear like EA Access is basically a backdoor route for EA to charge for demo's which I honestly think would be a stupid thing to do and would almost certainly have a negative impact on sales.
  • last one i got was madden 12 so i hope to get madden 15 and i dont really need a demo i know its gonna be a decent game R.I.P Robin ....legend
  • Do you earn achievements for those 5 free days?
  • @13 I imagine it would probably be like the EA Season Ticket on 360. The achievements won't officially unlock until you either purchase the game or play it when it gets in the Vault.
  • its been confirmed I don't remember where but its not a demo you get full game access but some may only offer certain modes etc but all achievments and unlocks etc wwill carry over when you purchase game
  • How stupid can you guys be  THERE IS NO DAMN DEMO!!! You get a 5 day early access to the actual full game!!! And all for just fucking $5 a month! EA Access is actually a good deal. I sold both FIFA 14 and BF4 as soon as I found out about and got $60 for both of them. EA Access pretty much paid for it self.
