Ubisoft has revealed that its upcoming racing title, The Crew, is coming to Xbox 360 in addition to PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Asobo Studio (who previously developed Fuel) is working on the Xbox 360 version.

"It's Ubisoft's objective to continue to meet the needs of consumers who have not yet made the move to the new console generation", said Ubisoft’s senior vice president of sales and marketing, Geoffroy Sardin.

"The Crew was originally built for the new generation of consoles, but we have always had a desire to make it accessible to as many people as possible.

"We're excited to bring The Crew's same core features, massive scope, mission variety, and overall driving experience to Xbox 360 players."

The Crew hits all formats on November 11th. A beta on next-gen consoles is planned for late September. A “limited number of players” will be invited to take part.

  • I thought this was only possible on next-gen? IT seems that term is used vaguely..
  • Very dissapointed - this will be held back because of the 360/ps3 hope this doesnt go down the same road as watchdogs, but now i have a feeling it will.....
  • "The Crew was originally built for the new generation of consoles" that don't sound good to me as #2 said ive got a feeling it will go the way of watchdogs. when will they drop last gen I hope its sooner rather than later
  • FFS I have played 2 games on my Xbox One that were 'next-gen' only. TWO, and they were launch games (DR3 and Ryse). Everything else has been cross-gen. I queued up for hours when I should have been in bed to buy a new console, may as well have gone to sleep and waited for the price reductions. Even Titanfall - which got me all wet and sticky - was always being planned for 360, they just waited a while to announce it.
  • @ totally agree with all above - or a least do 2 different versions like assassins creed is doing like one for this gen and one for last gen, this cross gen shit, just slowing the new consoles down in my view, but 360/ps3 have had there days, let moved forward, or at least lower the new consoles price to seel more, but hey ho who im I
  • Just a heads up, it's a different Dev crew just like the 360 version of Titanfall had a different Dev crew. Xbox One will be better in every way while the 360 version will be dumbed down.
  • Looks rubbish on current gen it will be rubbish on last gen.
  • Well this just stopped my luster for this. So sad this is going to be held back
  • Do people not think they'll do a Forza Horizon 2 with this? Different devs with the X1 getting all the bells and whistles and the 360 getting all that it can support. It's next gen games being developed for 360 under the same dev team which has me worried (Rise of the Tomb Raider).
  • please just let old gen die so we can get games for next gen, might as well say new system out, but wait 3 years to buy it because we wont do anything with it for a while.
  • This blow. They need to stop supporting last gen. I'm glad EA has done so with FIFA 15.
  • No big deal for me. I pretty much know what I'm getting several months, if not more, in advance. And this never caught my eye. I only like an occasional racing game and I go with Forza typically (Burnout in the early days). This was a deep discount buy if at all. But hey, don't be bummed guys. We got Halo MCC!!! 106 maps of pure fun :O
  • @10 some of is still have old gen as you call it. Its Ms and the devs who need to pull their finger out i have no interest in buying a xbox1 anytime soon if they keep releasing 360 versions of these supposed next gen games
  • Come on use a bit off common sense, with nearly 100 million units sold no company in there right mind would not develop for the 360. Its simple make a game for a machine that has sold 5 million are 100 million, I agree that the Xbox one needs more exclusive titles but until it sells more the games will still be made for both machines which will also effect Xbox one sales. Its one off those paradox things lol.
  • Not getting now. It's not gonna be anything like they said, quite simply last gen can't handle/do it and releasing cross gen means it will be held back.
  • bunch of cry babies
  • @15 Sadly I agree, no longer interested at all :(
  • Fuck everyone saying "Drop last gen". Not all of us can afford a $400 dollar console. The fact is that there is still more people on the Xbox 360 than Xbox One. Plenty of people are going to wait for a price drop. Companies aren't going to drop last gen, because a good portion of their money making potential is there. I won't be getting the Xbone for a couple more years, because I can't afford it right now. And I only ever buy about 5 or 6 games a year anymore, and that's when they're on sale. I know i'm not the only one, so fuck the rest of you whiners.
  • @ Ned king if not for people like you then the current gen sales would be booming. It's also Ppl like you why development teams need to drop the 360. All you Ppl do is screw everyone with a xbox one cause your too much of a cheap ass to go buy a console. Current gen console not last gen. Just stop being a cheap ass and support it and you'll see your quality of games will increase dramatically. Fucking penny penchers
  • @19 Did I ever say I didn't own the Xbox one I was just stating a fact that no company would ever stop making games for a machine that has sold over 100 million machines. Grow the hell up and join the real world were people have the right to do what they want and maybe some can't afford the Xbox one now are just don't fancy it, I suppose your rich daddy bought you yours.
  • @20 I understand the point you are making but 19 does have a point. Here's a quote from #13 "some of is still have old gen as you call it. Its Ms and the devs who need to pull their finger out i have no interest in buying a xbox1 anytime soon if they keep releasing 360 versions of these supposed next gen games". so by that comment which many many people feel that way then last Gen is holding current Gen back. Stop releasing every game for last Gen and you will see current Gen sales spike... But yes I still say support last Gen just with fewer titles as primary focus should be on current Gen. for all those claiming how expensive it is to buy new Gen systems I only have to say this " how long do you plan to keep using that excuse. At $400 if you would have saved as much as $1 a day since it was announced you'd have the funds for it. Less than a dollar actually. Not to sound like a dick but sry that's just not a logical or valid excuse anymore... Find a new one or tell the truth. That you will not upgrade as long as titles keep appearing for last Gen in massive numbers.
  • @22 But if you read my first statement I already said about people won't buy it until it sells more which means people won't buy it because games are being released for both systems which is one off those glass half empty things so him saying people like me was just completely wrong. Plus the reason the Xbox one isn't selling well is because Microsoft have made a pigs ear in the costumer relations, promotion and have released a cheaper version in the hardware department than the PS4. First they done the DRM fiasco, then they say the Kinect will always be released with it but go back on there word pissing off loyal gamers who bought it first. Then all the technology mags show its performance compared to the PS4 and we find out Microsoft went cheap in the graphics card and Ram but still charge the same as a PS4. Knowing it can't compete in graphics they sell it without Kinect only boosting it 10% which us still around 40% behind the PS4 in graphics. This is not me making stuff up, Fan boy are not these are facts and these are the reason the Xbox one is not selling well, so don't blame gamers blame Microsoft for taking years to develop a console that is no match for its main rival. I have the one but play the 360 more which doesn't say much about the console and I bet if everyone was honest they wouldn't be 100% happy about the ones performance compared to the PS4.
  • @23 I know all this but its not all as it appears the Tec mags are comparing the base hardware with considering the hardware that enhances other hardware... Ram as an example the ps4 has gddr5 where the one has cheaper ddr3 that runs about 100 Mb slower but also as module to buffer the difference in the 100 Mb speeds to bring it on par with the gddr5. Trust me its not as bad as it seems... DRM fiasco has perks and drawbacks as does everything and it caused so many to jump ship which hurt sales then peeps refused to buy it so they went back on word yet again removed the Kinect so people would buy it and now peeps still don't buy. Its not all on MS. Gamers demand things before purchase and when MS gives it to them they refuse to buy and demand more... To make matters worse about 95% of titles go to both the 360 and the one which is cause peeps who would buy to see no point in buying because everything they want is on 360... I'm telling you the main reason its being held back now is that there is nowhere enough titles on one that's not on 360 to push peeps to buy... Bring the games and people will buy... But to do that they have to stop fully supporting last Gen... I know you know it and so does everyone else... The gamers as well as Microsoft is to blame for slow sells...
  • And to clarify not stop all support of 360 but stop fully supporting it if that makes sense to you... Drop to about 40 maybe 50% cross Gen and watch sales rocket up...
  • @24 Yes it is as bad as it seems, the ram only has a 30 meg buffer which brings it up a bit but still not as good but the main thing is the AMD graphics chips which again Microsoft went for the cheaper option. The One can have around 700 pixels and shaders compared to the PS4's 1300, anyone who knows about visuals in games will know that this is a big difference. This is AMD themselves telling people the difference in the 2 cards. All the big mags say at the moment its not a big deal but when games develop more the power off the PS4 will leave the Xbox one behind in visual's. People can try and be fan boys and stick up for Microsoft but I'm a Xbox user and always have been but I'm disappointed in the cheaper hardware Microsoft have used but the main thing is they charge us the same price as the PS4. Nobody would pay the same price for 2 PC's if 1 had a cheaper graphics card and Ram but we happily take it from Microsoft and gamers on this site even stick up for them, talk about being brain washed.
  • @25 PS for some reason you think I'm complaining about people on this site wanting next Gen games to be made for only next Gen but I'm not and haven't said anything like that in my posts if you read them. All I stated was that money talks and the 360 has sold so many companies will still support it, I would love next Gen games only but I can't see it happening anytime soon.
  • @27 my other comment #25 was only there to make sure that people actually u stood that part of the #24 comment. Was saying you're complaining at all... Just didn't want others to think that I was saying to stop support for the 360 all together because I wasn't... You will see when MS says we are done supporting last Gen how correct that statement actually is... I play my 360 more because they keep pushing games back... Hopefully everything I am getting releases on time without any last minute push backs...
  • @28 Microsoft have already stated that the 360 is still very profitable and will continue to support it for at least another 3-4 years so you might have a while to wait to see how correct the statement is.
  • @29 please explain what that has to do with my statement. they said they would continue support for 2-3 yrs which the first year is almost up leaving really only 1-2 more years. when that time frame is met and microsoft states its done supporting the 360 (i say again not now but when they do which will happen) you will see way less games coming to it and all games coming to the one which will force people to either stop gaming or buy the current gen consoles. what about that is hard to understand?? all i'm saying is if they continue support by putting out games but cut back on how many are released for last gen you will see massive spike in current gen sales. you will see this happen within a yr or two at the longest... i honestly see continued support but a drop in support over all come 2015 with a continued downgrade of support for another year or two before they announce no more support. then the xbox one will be the best gaming machine ever in the eyes of those who do nothing but bitch about it now... its actually funny and highly probable.
  • @29 sry for the way i worded my previous message ^^^ i misread your #29 comment lol
  • @31 lol no worries pal.
