Bethesda has announced the voice cast for Tango Gameworks' and Resident Evil maestro Shinji Mikami's upcoming survival horror, The Evil Within. Three key actors have been revealed for the game ahead of its October release, including Watchmen's Rorshach, Jackie Earle Haley.
Academy Award nominee Haley will lend his vocal talents to the role of The Evil Within's main antagonist, Ruvik, no doubt drawing upon his experience playing Freddie Krueger in the remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street. Anson Mount who plays Cullen Bohannon in AMC's Hell on Wheels will assume the role of the game's hero, Sebastian Castellanos.
Rounding out the cast will be Jennifer Carpenter, whose credits include playing Debra Morgan in Dexter, as well as Quarantine and The Exorcism of Emily Rose. Carpenter will play Sebastian's Junior Detective partner, Juli Kidman, who you'll also be able to play as in The Evil Within's upcoming post-launch Season Pass content.
"One of the most crucial elements to any successful survival horror game is the setting and sound, which includes the depth and authenticity of the voice acting," said Mikami. "We brought together a great cast of experienced actors to help ensure that players really believe our characters’ emotions and the tension they feel in every scene."
The Evil Within will see Detective Castellanos investigating a brutal mass murder, before facing unimaginable terrors. It'll be available for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4 and PC on October 14th in North America, October 16th in Australia and October 17th in Europe.
