Ubisoft has dated Rocksmith for Xbox One. The learn-to-play-guitar game will be available on November 4th in North America and November 7th in Europe.

The Xbox One version of the game has been bumped to 1080p and features integrated streaming and capture to share your axe-wielding exploits. It comes with over 50 tracks, the ability to import DLC from the Xbox 360 version and a Real Tone Cable to run between your guitar and your console.

“It’s the fastest way to learn guitar, and it’s already helped more than 2 million people learn how to play,” says Ubisoft.

  • I wish this was a new title but it's still welcome.
  • Very tempted to get this. Heard it was great for 360. Teaches you how to play guitar? Who think video games can't teach you anything now? No doubt I'll have to keep it out of little daughters reach.
  • I would normally be saying I'll get this, but.... I'm not too sure I need a new guitar and all but I dunno if this is a good enough reason....
  • It's fantastic and I'll probably pick this up eventually. Any idea if the original cable will work with it? As someone who's never had any experience with a guitar before, I think it's a great learning tool. It's much better than just trying to watch a video or something like that.
  • Definitely have to pick this up. Always wanted to know how to play guitar but doesn't have anyone to teach me. Rock on to November 4th.
  • Meh would rather play guitar hero
  • @3 It works with any REAL guitar. Not those plastic guitar hero things. I think you could in theory even play it with an acoustic but the feedback would be pretty minimal. But with any electric/acoustic electric it works really well.
  • I can't believe there is still a demand for this shit.
  • it doesnt teach you how to play guitar that is a lie..... i want this but iv got it on 360 so this gives me no incentive to buy what is already in my collection, if it was a definitive collection or something where you got rs and 14 with refinements then fair enough but not enough for me to shell out for again im afraid.
  • @9 I wouldn't say it's a lie as such. The lessons it gives you are good and in that way it does teach you to play guitar. But where it falls flat compared to actually getting lessons from another person is that it cannot work out your technique. You either play the note or you don't. It can't tell you if your fingers are in the optimal position, or whether you are moving your fingers about way more than you need to etc. So I would say it does teach you how to play but it's definitely nowhere near as good as getting actual lessons from a good teacher.
  • To add to what @10 said, it teaches you the fundamentals and gets you started on the path to being a good guitar player but won't teach you anything at that level because you do need someone else to guide you and give you advice. But for the basics that you need in order to actually play a guitar to the point where you see yourself developing real skill, Rocksmith is pretty good. Mind you, I'm not playing a guitar, just strictly the bass but I hadn't touched the instrument before and now I feel as if I suck quite a bit less, haha.
  • Yes... So glad to hear this... I have to get this... Although its on backburner will pick it up asap
  • About time .....a hope it lets you import the first rocksmith songs like on the 360
  • @7 well... sort of. For us that play real guitar but have our guitar set up to other tuning such as Drop C this is a real chore for us. you can't just re-tune to e standard or drop D without the risk of destroying your guitar setup. You almost have to have a spare guitar in e standard that you can use with this game. Which I don't... I had the original game but did not play it for this reason.
  • And why vote #9 down? It is a lie that it doesn't teach you guitar. Ok... so it teaches you to play some songs by memorizing note positions... Well you still don't know how to play guitar. There needs to be a game that comes out and teaches theory. I realize that it has scales mini games, but that is still not knowing how to play guitar.
  • Day 1 buy, rock on !
  • Does it have a guitar bundle or do u need to buy a guitar to play?
  • Cheers 15 i dont get the downvotes either. I played guitar before this and yes i have improved a bit. But thats through practice with a band. Music theory and using this as a timing practice to songs we play. I can name 11 friend's who bought this thinking they werr6 gonna be shredding it up or at least putting a song together. Everyone of them has either let the game gather dust or sold it. The frustrations lay with no strum patterns. No way to break technique down. And the jump in difficulty. Say something like mean bith. Simple enough until that one extra note comes in then its a mess. So no it doesnt teach you how to play. You will be able to play along to some songs but you aint gonna become slash.
  • I've got this on the 360 and have played guitar for a few years and in my opinion it would be a brilliant way for someone just starting out to learn the guitar if they put the time into it.
