United Front hopes to bring its newly announced free-to-play “online action-adventure” PC game, Triad Wars, to console.

Triad Wars was announced this week. Set in the Sleeping Dogs Universe, Triad Wars features an MMO-type structure. Players will establish their turf, find a place in the underworld and then fight to take over new territory. But as of now, they’ll only do this on PC.

However, speaking during a Reddit AMA, United Front Producer Justin Bullard said, “Our hope is to get this game on everything. We've spent a lot of time upgrading the engine and making tech improvements to ensure we are able to get it running on any platform. So while it's PC for now...stay tuned.”

During the AMA, Bullard also discussed the possibility of a true Sleeping Dogs sequel, saying, “Right now we are totally focused on making Triad Wars as awesome as it could be - but would love to continue making games in the Sleeping Dogs universe.”

  • How about you instead you cancel this. And anything F2P related to Sleeping Dogs. And instead do everyone a favour and make Sleeping Dogs 2. If you want multiplayer add it onto this. This is exactly the opposite of why I enjoyed Sleeping Dogs...
  • NO THANKS - so you can cream it with micro-transactions. pay to win, nevr be apart of this type of scam, go and release it on a ipad, not consoles, hate this trend aswell as rehash polish on old games
  • Massive knee jerk reaction. Just see if its any good maybe? If they added it to SD 2 we would get "tacked on multiplayer" BLAH BLAH BORE.
  • Uhhhhh, NO. United Front, no one asked for this. Unbelievable.
  • Good god now. Keep th F2P crap off consoles and put them on Facebook for bored stay at home moms. Sleeping Dogs 2, yes please. Or, you could release ModNation Racers on XB1. That game was the only reason I kept my PS3 for so long.
  • There's nothing wrong with Warframe.
  • Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition on Xbox One has a challenge expiring in 10 hours, and the game won't be released for weeks. They better fix this when it comes out because that's ridiculous.
  • I am not sure whether this would be worth buying at a full retail price, seeing as it really just seems to be a really big Sleeping Dogs DLC. Maybe if it was at like £15 or something in that range then it would be worth getting, but a full retail maybe a bit too much for this. Either way I anticipate some gameplay videos in the near future.
  • #9: Maybe you should try playing Warframe before you make inaccurate comments about it. It's the only game I've played since it was released on Xbox and I haven't spent a penny on it. Although I am now considering buying some platinum as I believe the Dev's deserve money for the hours of fun I've had.
  • @11 I've played Warframe for 2 years and everything doesn't really NEED to be bought with platinum except weapon and warframe slots. You can actually earn every single thing in the game without spending anything on it. Buying everything with platinum is basically a shortcut for the lazy, rich, or inpatient people. As 10 says, do a bit of research for you make false claims. It sounds like to me that you just don't know how to play the game properly.
  • And well, cosmetic stuff like skins and armor add ons or whatever, but some of those cam actually be earned in game through alerts
  • @10 & @12 BOOOOOOM! Thank you for doing my job for me. EVERYONE always says that when complaining about Warframe, and when i read @9's comment i had to log in to correct some fools. I, like many people haven't spent a penny and my Warframe is unstoppable, i have about 5 different guns, and yes, almost EVERYTHING is unlock-able without platinum, you just need to grind out resources, which i think is acceptable because most games these days i can complete in a day, so having something long lasting is just what i need. BRING ON MORE FREE GAMES.
  • While I agree that Warframe is pretty good I don't agree with F2P sleeping dogs, I'm sure that it would be fun but come on, as #1 said you might as well create Sleeping Dogs 2.
  • Dont kno why Warframe was brought up any way in this thread, and why the trailer for Triad Wars was not included, but in the trailer they did not talk about the pay structure and from the looks of it the only thing that you may be paying for is premium customization options and possibly premium guns. Dont down the game because all of you know anything free on the XB1 will be downloaded. So im looking forward to this hope it does get to consoles.
  • im fine with pc only i think thats the way it should be f2p games just do better on pc why should they waste time and resources making console versions but consoles wont hurt i suppose
  • @#11 yea u should look ur facts up before typing. You can buy blueprints of just about anything. You need to buy blueprints first, then find the items to build it. Only thing that actually cost platinum is skin colors etc. You don't need to spend a dime to get anything good. @#16 obviously because its also a free to play game. And no one complained about that. It's free to play not force to play...you ppl don't have to download it. Its that simple.
  • While F2P games aren't really my thing, I have a friend who is absolutely bananas over Warframe. I don't get it, but I also don't begrudge anyone for liking what they want to. I think the trick with F2P is to find a good balance for people who don't want to pay and offer shortcuts for those who do. Most F2P games are very heavy-handed with their approach to microtransactions because they (obviously) want your money. When I can't advance in a meaningful way in a game unless I spend X amount of actual money or wait 36 real-time hours to build things, I tend to lose interest pretty quickly; and to be honest Warframe was rife with this sort of thing. OT: Hope United Front finds that sweet spot between F2P and P2W with Triad Wars. Will keep an eye on this one.
  • @19 You are absolutely right
  • Freemium can be done right, so I'm holding my breath for the moment. So long as it's not inherently pay to win, and it's actually feasible to get somewhere in the game without using paid packs or whatever, I'm all for it.
  • am i the only one that misread the subtitle for watch_dogs instead of sleeping dogs >_< lol
  • @9 u should really listen to what others have said instead of complaining because u cant get what u want....my gf has 100% warframes achievements had lv 30 on all her stuff and has farmed everything she needed i see nothing wrong with F2P games like warframe i just think it should be reasonable ya know?
