With HaloFest 2014 and the launch of Halo: The Master Chief Collection just around the corner, Microsoft and 343 Industries have released a new official trailer for live-action TV series Halo: Nightfall. Charting Agent Locke's story ahead of his pivotal role as a playable character in Halo 5: Guardians, Nightfall will come bundled with The Master Chief Collection.

HaloFest 2014, meanwhile, will take place from November 8th, and will include a global Halo tournament, interviews with 343, a premiere of Halo: Nightfall and the first look at the Halo 5: Guardians beta ahead of it going live on December 29th.

For a sneak peek at Halo: Nightfall, watch the official trailer below. Halo: The Master Chief Collection launches on November 11th, exclusively for Xbox One. It comes with Halo: Nightfall and Halo 5: Guardians beta access. There's more on Halo: Nightfall here.

  • The CGI looks decent. I don't expect it to look perfect but they did pretty dam well. If MS made a movie in that same way, I'd definitely go see it.(Insert take my money meme)
  • Production value on this looks even greater than the forward until dawn movie. Hopefully it turns out well
  • I don't know...
  • That thing at 1:54! What the hell?!!?
  • I really think this is just them testing the waters, just to gauge public reaction before microsoft dumps some big $$$ in to an actual AAA movie.
  • "Nightfall will come bundled with The Master Chief Collection." - I'm a bit confused, does this mean the whole Nightfall series is on the Master Chief Collection or just one episode or have I totally missed the point?
  • @6 Only one episode will be released at launch.... Others will follow.
  • @7 ah, thanks. Do you know if, as owners of the Master Chief Collection we'll be able to download them for free when they are released or do we just watch them on TV/via Xbox Marketplace
  • @9, I think it's going to be through the Halo Waypoint app when it launches the same day I think.
  • This looks awesome, looking forward to it
  • Huge Halo fan and this looks like shit
  • It will be through the HALO TV system. It will be available through there as they release new episodes. I am sure they will have a link in the MCC to the video directly in the HaloTV app
  • @10 then dont watch it...? i mean its too simple. if you arent interested then dont follow it
  • @10 sorry. i meant that towards 11
  • Lololol this is the first trailer for it I believe? Of course I'm going to watch the trailer and of course I'm going to have a comment for the first impression. No need to get defensive, I may like Halo a lot...but clearly not as much as you lmao....
  • @15, there is quite a big difference between a 'first impression' and an 'insulting statement', the later holding no weight other then the insult that goes with it. On topic, this looks very good :3 I'll be watching this as it leaks online, seeing as I don't have an xbox one yet (have no real reason to own one yet). I wonder if this'll be some form of weaponised flood strain, given how the rats worked together, that'd be my first thought, similar in application to how the flood was originally introduced to humans.
  • "insulting statement" lolol no need to take my constructive criticism so harshly. Calm down.
