Warner Bros. has announced a live-action digital series based upon the upcoming Mortal Kombat X. It's not the first time the gory fighter franchise has been immortalised as a digital series, with online episodic show, Mortal Kombat: Legacy airing back in 2011, as a tie-in with Mortal Kombat 9.
Blue Ribbon Content, a new Warner Bros division focused on digital live-action and animated serials, will produce the Mortal Kombat X series, although details are still scant on the project. It will "feature some of the franchise's most iconic characters as well as a new generation of fighters," but that's about all we know so far.
Mortal Kombat X is slated for release on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PC on April 14th, 2014. You'll find more in our latest hands-on preview here.
