Loved ME series would be good to replay on the x1Friday, November 07, 2014 @ 01:09 PM
I sort of feel I have made my decisions as Shepherd. I don't need to play it again. Plus, my Shepherd looked like Sylar from Heroes. It would feel weird playing as one who looked different.Friday, November 07, 2014 @ 01:15 PM
I remember my last ME1 game, I managed to get a fantastic Spectre grade assault rifle and upgraded it so well that it actually wouldn't overheat and barely lost accuracy. I could literally hold down the fire trigger for an entire battle and the overheat bar would not fill up. The fact that I could have a gun like that made thermal clips feel like utter crap.Friday, November 07, 2014 @ 01:16 PM
If they would just port the ME trilogy to nex-gen, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. These possible additions sound fantastic.Friday, November 07, 2014 @ 01:23 PM
or how about no mass effect trilogy and jade empire remake....a man can dream.Friday, November 07, 2014 @ 01:34 PM
1 of my biggest last-gen regrets was not getting around to playing the Mass Effect series, if they came to the Xbox One, I'd be all for it.Friday, November 07, 2014 @ 01:40 PM
I'd probably buy it, but if this does become real it just shows that pretty much all the AAA that we all know and love on the 360 will inevitably get remastered in some form for the Xbox One and PS4 Call of duty: modern warfare 1,2,3 Gears of War: 1,2,3 Assassins Creed: 1,2,3 Bioshock: 1,2,3 And those are just 4 AAA titles that could have a real possibility at becoming remastered. I know I wouldn't be surprised if they did. And I'd also probably play them all again too just cause how much I've enjoyed them when they first were released on the 360.Friday, November 07, 2014 @ 01:41 PM
Actually my bad I know there isn't a bioshock 3.. But you get what I was trying to say.Friday, November 07, 2014 @ 01:43 PM
Love the idea of the extra cut scenes to make it one big game.Friday, November 07, 2014 @ 01:47 PM
Would love this to happen. Loved the trilogyFriday, November 07, 2014 @ 01:52 PM
Gimmie gimmie gimmie!Friday, November 07, 2014 @ 01:53 PM
Sorry but.....not unless they retcon the ending to the third one....I have no will to play a game that, once over, makes me NOT want to play again.Friday, November 07, 2014 @ 01:57 PM
EA can stick it up there ass mass effect trilogy would have be ten times better is bioware told EA to go fuck them self now we got a trilogy of over hyped games thanks to EA medling. The only good news I want to hear from EA is that they are closing down the game indusrty will be better off if they did close downFriday, November 07, 2014 @ 02:00 PM
Im all for it coming to xbox1 I just hope they put all DLC for all games even the pre order and collector edition stuffFriday, November 07, 2014 @ 02:09 PM
would definitely buy this for a 3rd timeFriday, November 07, 2014 @ 02:25 PM
@7 I hope you're including Revelations and Brotherhood in that little collection, especially with those being arguably the better ones :PFriday, November 07, 2014 @ 02:29 PM
Maybe it's naïve to say, but if they can tweek the combat and stealth for Metro: 2033 to the better combat of Last Light, I would think it wouldn't be TOO hard for EA/Bioware to tweek ME1 to the standards or 'feel' of ME3. To me, the combat in ME1 to ME3 wasn't THAT different so as to require a complete overhaul. I'd love to play it again with higher-res textures and lighting. It was a truly unique experience on last-gen. I loved it.Friday, November 07, 2014 @ 02:40 PM
How about developers/publishers make and release some NEW & ORIGINAL games instead of re-mastering OLD games!!Friday, November 07, 2014 @ 03:23 PM
Yes, let's just continue the trend of remastering old games for the new consoles rather than coming up with new and original ideas.Friday, November 07, 2014 @ 03:37 PM
@7 I love how you left out Gears JudgementFriday, November 07, 2014 @ 03:38 PM
I'd much rather buy this is ME1 combat was similar to ME2 and 3. It wouldn't feel as "seamless" as they want it to if you go through the game (that is all supposed to be tied together into one experience) if it transfers from an annoying fighting system, to the great one that we like in the sequels. The transfer wouldn't feel in place.Friday, November 07, 2014 @ 03:39 PM
I definitely prefer the combat in ME1, so I'm glad they wouldn't retcon it. If there was new cutscenes... and it was one seamless game... I don't know, I might be tempted.Friday, November 07, 2014 @ 03:40 PM
I laughed, I cried, I cheered, I whimpered, I moaned (dat Miranda booty shot). It was a real roller coaster of emotions. I would never be opposed to a new gen remake. I would just prefer ME4 at the moment.Friday, November 07, 2014 @ 03:42 PM
Why the previous 2 comments have been thumbed down I don't know. I would prefer something new. But, it is Mass Effect we're talking about. The second being my favourite by far. But to add all dlc into a seamless experience would be epic. I'd buy that.Friday, November 07, 2014 @ 04:04 PM
Hopefully the community provides an overwhelming amount of feedback in regards to them retconning that abomination that is ME3's ending. And maybe fire Mac Walters as a gesture of good faith with the community too.Friday, November 07, 2014 @ 04:07 PM
Would purchase day one. Mass Effect is basically the only reason I haven't yet sold my 360 to clear up some valuable HDMI space on my AV receiver (and to a lesser extent, guitar hero) so I would massively welcome a remaster of the trilogy to X1! Plus, more achievements, right?Friday, November 07, 2014 @ 04:24 PM
@26 That valuable HDMI space can be corrected with a switch for about $10.Friday, November 07, 2014 @ 04:35 PM
To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if all the Mass Effect games remastered were included in the Halo MCC. It seems to include everything else!Friday, November 07, 2014 @ 04:49 PM
Id buy it defo. I only borrowed ME 1-2 and owned 3, would be nice to own all of them and do a marathon!Friday, November 07, 2014 @ 05:21 PM
I would get an X1 remaster of the Mass Effect trilogy in a heartbeat as long as it didn't get in the way of the development of Mass 4Friday, November 07, 2014 @ 05:42 PM
Due to the ME3 ending and the simplifying of the combat/rpg elements/dialogue as the series, id find it very hard to give EA/Bioware another cent. I love ME1 by the way. What a beautifully flawed masterpiece.Friday, November 07, 2014 @ 06:53 PM
Something that a lot of people are not considering is the fact that if the Mass Effect Trilogy comes to X1/PS4, there is a strong chance that the choices made in all 3 games could import over into a Mass Effect 4 save file. That wouldn't work if somebody had a Mass Effect trilogy x360 version and tried to transfer it to the x1 Mass effect 4 version. It's only natural for the games to work in harmony. If I was Casey Hudson or Aaryn Flynn, I would take this idea carefully into consideration.Friday, November 07, 2014 @ 07:21 PM
#5 Jade Empire 2 would legitimately be the best gaming news I have heard in 2 years.Friday, November 07, 2014 @ 08:02 PM
Bad habit to get into to start remastering 360 games, not a good reason to get xb1Friday, November 07, 2014 @ 08:35 PM
I hope they do it right so they don't waste their time or ours. And I'll take the combat from Mass Effect 2 or Mass Effect 3 over that outdated gameplay from the first game. Too many people let nostalgia cloud their vision of these things. I'd love to have the RPG elements from the first one back, but the gunplay was atrocious.Friday, November 07, 2014 @ 10:01 PM
@7 CoD and Assassins.. Not a chance.. Not while they are churning out a new one every year.. I played the First ME, but just didn't have time to get round to playing the other 2.. So as and when this comes to light It will be a day one purchase. Would love to see Gears of War 1-3, Bioshock and Borderlands 1,2 + PS (once all the DLC for the latest one is done and dusted) Re done for Current Gen as well.Saturday, November 08, 2014 @ 08:07 AM
ME1 gameplay > Sequels. Despite my feeling that though you kinda HAVE to add the ME3 gameplay to the first game if your remastering it because the gameplay is super outdated compared to the latter... if people want a seemless experience they are gonna have to get around the vastly different approaches the first game has to the latter games. The first game felt more of a pure RPG for me... the second and third more hybrids. There was no right or wrong way to do it but the clash of styles cant really help a seamless re-release on newer consoles. Still on the subject of gameplay though they CANNOT remove the Mako from the first game even if it would be easier too... it was awesome and there was a reason there was cries for its return and the DLC they made as a result of said feedback. Glad to hear its likely to show up again in Mass Effect 4Saturday, November 08, 2014 @ 11:11 AM
I like how people are getting thumbed down for saying that they would prefer new games over remasters. Pretty much says it all about the games industry tbh.Saturday, November 08, 2014 @ 12:34 PM
Never played through this trilogy. Maybe this will be incentive.Saturday, November 08, 2014 @ 11:07 PM
@38, the exploration made possible by the mako was fun, but the planet topography was some of the worst map-making I've ever seen in a game. It was as if they just randomly generated it and slapped some markers down. If they're going to bring the mako back, they better put some actual thought and design into the explorable maps.Monday, November 10, 2014 @ 06:25 AM
To be honest, even though I want a new Mass Effect, I'd still pay for the entire trilogy on Xbox One. As long as it came with all the DLC.Tuesday, November 11, 2014 @ 11:51 PM
Day one buy for me, without a shadow of a doubt.

BioWare’s general manager Aaryn Flynn has been chatting about his ideas for an Xbox One and PlayStation 4 Mass Effect trilogy, while also asking the community for input.
In a thread on NeoGAF, Flynn didn’t confirm that a Mass Effect trilogy is coming to new consoles, but he did discuss a wish list of some great ideas, both his own and the community’s.
Flynn's personal opinion was that a remastered trilogy would ideally run at 1080p/60fps and feature higher res textures and shader improvements. He also identified a desire for integrated DLC and new cutscenes to stitch the three games together into one seamless experience.
“The seamless adventure would be very interesting,” he said. “You’d have to integrate some cut scenes to tie it together I feel as the time between games was almost like the time elapsed in game, all in all that’s a great list though, DLC is a definite must!”
“I know it’d be a great addition for most of us here if the character creator was tweaked to ensure more customisation as the DA:I has given us a taste of the good life,” he added.
As for how the trilogy’s add-ons would be integrated, Flynn suggested that they would be “organically implemented” into the adventure. “It should just all be there, as if it never wasn’t there (if that makes sense),” he said.
One thing Flynn wasn’t so keen on, however, is bringing the combat gameplay of the first mass Effect into line with the sequels. “‘ME3 combat mechanics in ME1’ comes up relatively often,” he said.
“But it’s not on my radar (again, speaking personally). First it would be a helluva lot of work. Second, I hate the idea of us being accused of ‘retconning’ ME1. Third (and I bet everyone on NeoGAF knows this), there are those who prefer ME1…”
“So given that all that, it doesn’t feel like the right thing to do,” he said.
