I never played this game back in the day. Looks like a good old school RPG.Friday, November 21, 2014 @ 05:21 PM
I will be adding this to my collection in the next few days/weeks. Depending on how bored I get of Dragon Age and Sunset OD. Looks pretty fantastic!Friday, November 21, 2014 @ 05:22 PM
@1 it was made for the Sega Genesis in 2010. It was never released during that system's heyday. Kinda confusing backstory but that's the impression I got from my research on it.Friday, November 21, 2014 @ 05:33 PM
Mad that someone was releasing games for the Mega Drive in 2010! Gonna give this a try.Friday, November 21, 2014 @ 05:34 PM
@4: So don't buy it. There are plenty of games for everyone. No reason for me not to get my nostalgia on just because you think there should only be AAA titles on Xbox. I welcome any and all RPGs, be they modern or retro.Friday, November 21, 2014 @ 05:51 PM
@6: I was going through the trouble of actually logging in for once to say the same thing. Between this, Dragon Age, Borderlands, and The Witcher in a couple of months, I'll be in RPG heaven for many months.Friday, November 21, 2014 @ 05:55 PM
I bought this and thomas was alone last night. Can't wait to start playing.Friday, November 21, 2014 @ 05:58 PM

Really want to play this but i wait and see if the achievements are glitched like the Ps version. if they are i get it for my Wii U insteadFriday, November 21, 2014 @ 06:13 PM
I forgot this was incoming. Need an RPG fix. Don't care how it looks, so long as its got gameplay.Friday, November 21, 2014 @ 06:29 PM
@4 Your perfectly entitled to your opinion of course but then again, as #6 said, nobody is forcing you to buy it. I say be mature and celebrate the diversity of gaming. I don't care for CoD or pretty much any FPS with a few exceptions, I'm an RPG and stealth gamer purely, but I'm still glad there's a diverse selection of great games, regardless of the graphics, for people to play even if the majority don't interest me in the least.Friday, November 21, 2014 @ 06:46 PM
So wish this was final fantasy VII. The wait continues...........Friday, November 21, 2014 @ 06:46 PM
I grew up playing old-school, sprite-based RPGs like this, so I'm always happy to see an RPG like this get released.Friday, November 21, 2014 @ 06:50 PM
And I feel like a dummy right now, that's supposed to be you're not your. But yeah, I'm with #14. Given how much emphasis seems to be placed on graphics over anything else these days it's nice to see a game done in an older style that has to focus on story. Now if we can just get a Wizardry style dungeon crawler I'll be a very happy gamer.Friday, November 21, 2014 @ 07:03 PM
I bought this game and when I launch the game I get a black screen. Does this happen to you too guys ?Friday, November 21, 2014 @ 07:04 PM
@16: That happened to me as well. I had to delete my Gamertag off the console and re-download it, then it worked fine. Deleting the game and re-installing it didn't help (but I tried that too).Friday, November 21, 2014 @ 07:08 PM
@17: thank you so much, I tried to delete and reinstalling the game as well with your same result. I will try the other method, thank you so much :)Friday, November 21, 2014 @ 07:31 PM
@4, you're right, why work on a passion project, creating a work of art/labour of love when you can shovel out another CoD, Fifa, Assasins Creed ext! It's quite sad, not everyone likes older games, sure, but you're blocking out so many games that're often better then what's already on the current systems when you take that kinda stance. Sprite based games are an art style of making games, do you hate games with anime characters because they look like cartoons rather then games as well? We're at the point in games design where we're not going to get much better until we invent VR, not that the systems are coping that well either way, lol. Mini note at the end, funny, it was released cheaper on the PS4, I'll be picking this up without a doubt, been on an RPG binge lately XD, been hoping to get my hands on FF6 from somewhere, this'll bind me over some till I find it :3.Friday, November 21, 2014 @ 09:14 PM
Very excited for this to be my first Arcade game on XB1 when I get it. I saw that some of PS4's trophies were glitchy so I too will be patient and wait for some feedback. More JRPG's the better - retro or not!Friday, November 21, 2014 @ 11:07 PM
Its meant to be a really good rpg, so I look forward to trying it out. Pier solar is expensive to get on a mega drive now (well genesis) as they were a limited print.Saturday, November 22, 2014 @ 03:53 AM
Man I wish this was going to be released for the 360.Saturday, November 22, 2014 @ 09:20 AM
Im with the above poster, 360 release please!Saturday, November 22, 2014 @ 09:40 AM
Looks good i must say, will give it some thought next year as xmas shopping is destroying my disposable income at the moment.Saturday, November 22, 2014 @ 10:21 AM
May have to pick this up! Looks like an old school FF which I love, plus the 1000g ;)Saturday, November 22, 2014 @ 03:00 PM
I wanted to buy this on the Genesis a few years ago. Loved that they made a game on a cartridge for a classic system in 2010.Saturday, November 22, 2014 @ 07:35 PM
Thanks to xbox rewards scheme, this months rebate just paid for this... Free gaming is my favourite.Sunday, November 23, 2014 @ 02:24 AM
@4 fuck off, do you think that Naughty dog or bethesda level studios are making these small games? You don't lose anything by allowing more games to be made.Sunday, November 23, 2014 @ 06:19 PM
@4 you are a twat. OT, will be getting this game, for sure :)Wednesday, November 26, 2014 @ 01:12 PM
I've tried removing gamertag and re-downloading and still get a black screen on launch :(

The SEGA Genesis / Megadrive RPG Pier Solar and the Great Architects is out now on Xbox One, and to celebrate developer WaterMelon has released the game’s launch trailer.
“Pier Solar tells the story of Hoston, a young botanist who is on a quest to save his father from a mysterious illness,” says the blurb. “Along with his two best friends Alina and Edessot, the three friends embark on a quest seeking a rare herb to cure the illness of Hoston's father.”
Don’t be fooled by the old-school art style and the mention of ancient SEGA consoles, Pier Solar was created in 2010, in the style of classic JRPGs. The game is said to boast 50 hours of gameplay, 300 locations and 800 NPCs.
A labour of love for WaterMelon, Pier Solar and the Great Architects harks back to a golden era of roleplaying games. Click here to purchase Pier Solar HD for $14.99/£11.99.
