Is this a super early April Fools??Thursday, December 18, 2014 @ 03:59 PM
Too bad not xbox exclusive considering MS owns the brand now.Thursday, December 18, 2014 @ 03:59 PM
Puuuuuuttie-Pie.Thursday, December 18, 2014 @ 04:03 PM
I can't wait for Telltale to do "Destiny: Story Mode" the game. Finally bring some story to Destiny.Thursday, December 18, 2014 @ 04:04 PM
okay now this is too muchThursday, December 18, 2014 @ 04:04 PM
Hmmm, an interesting undertaking to be sure. Should be interesting to see the resultsThursday, December 18, 2014 @ 04:06 PM
@5 ZING. I see what you did there.Thursday, December 18, 2014 @ 04:09 PM
This will be the first TT game I dont buy, what a shit pick, they could have done any amazing series, Mass Effect, etc, and they pick shitty MinecraftThursday, December 18, 2014 @ 04:12 PM
#9 calm down little one, you'll ruin your dinner.Thursday, December 18, 2014 @ 04:14 PM
This just goes to show how easy these things are to pump out. 3 games in a year from the same studio? And that's assuming there isn't a walking dead season 3 or wolf among us S2. I love minecraft but I don't understand how a story can be made from it... guess we will find out.Thursday, December 18, 2014 @ 04:14 PM
I hope Telltale doesn't start making so many series that the quality of the previous ones start to drop, because they need to worry about releasing the next episode of each of them.Thursday, December 18, 2014 @ 04:15 PM
Hmm, this could be very good or very tacked on... I'm not gonna snap this up right away, but given telltales track record, I have confidence this could be good. There are several very good idea's you could go with for this, I think ima go and make a few video's about possible things this could be based around :P.Thursday, December 18, 2014 @ 04:16 PM
What next? Tetris? Minecraft is about gameplay. Leave the Minecraft stories to hank and jed. Seriously, go watch mob squad on YouTube. Funny stuffThursday, December 18, 2014 @ 04:17 PM
I think this can be great. There are alot of myths in minecraft that they can use. I wonder where they are going with this.Thursday, December 18, 2014 @ 04:18 PM
@3 - Microsoft gets money either way, think how Sony will feel about thatThursday, December 18, 2014 @ 04:20 PM
@11, it's actually extremely easy to create a story from mine craft, hell, look at adventure maps, herobrine, villagers as a whole showing the worlds populated, fan series such as mine craft noob adventures (first coming to mind). The 'building blocks' are there, they just need to be put together.Thursday, December 18, 2014 @ 04:22 PM
@9 I have to agree with you there mate, a minecraft story...Thursday, December 18, 2014 @ 04:27 PM
Excellent!Thursday, December 18, 2014 @ 04:29 PM
Lmao this is so stupid. Telltale games is just gonna make the same game over and over copy and pasted with a new franchise to drive the sales. People are still having save issues with all of their games including Walking Dead season ONE. SEASON ONE.Thursday, December 18, 2014 @ 04:33 PM
I hope they hire some new staff to make it. The current ones are busy with GOT, WD3, and BL. Lets not push them so much that quality deminishes.Thursday, December 18, 2014 @ 04:38 PM
I'm sorry, what? Minecraft? What?Thursday, December 18, 2014 @ 04:44 PM
@#20 - As much as I dig them, Traveler's Tales' LEGO games do that same thing and it's working for them, too. I don't see either of them changing their models at this point.Thursday, December 18, 2014 @ 04:45 PM
Telltale, don't overstay your welcome.Thursday, December 18, 2014 @ 04:53 PM
getting stupid now.Thursday, December 18, 2014 @ 05:07 PM
Honestly this is probably a smart move. Minecraft has a huge following especially with a younger audience. As much as I am enjoying Tales from the Borderlands, and Game of Thrones, I would have rather seen Telltale do an original story. Let them create the world, characters, plot, and so forth. Instead of adapting content to make a game, they should invent the story. I think it's time now that they've proven they can make games based on others content, but can they create their own content? Either way, I'll probably atleast check out the first episode of this.Thursday, December 18, 2014 @ 05:15 PM
My daughter will love this, I assume that's there target audience, not you pessimistic game lot :PThursday, December 18, 2014 @ 05:16 PM
Welcome to todays gaming. Something is a success and it gets milked to fuck. Telltale episodic games. Just change character and setting put easy achs on equals easy sales. I mean all they do is rinse out 2 or 3 copy and paste Lego games and 2 or 3 of these episodic games every year. Its the same as any franchise or company, the only way they wont keep rinsing these out is if ppl stop buying themThursday, December 18, 2014 @ 05:22 PM
I would love to see Telltale and Bethesda do either a Elder Scrolls game set in either Oblivion or Skyrim's world, or in Fallout's world.Thursday, December 18, 2014 @ 05:28 PM
Come on telltale your known for making mature rated story telling what is this gonna be rated E for everyone?!Thursday, December 18, 2014 @ 05:37 PM
@14 - They wouldn't get the rights to Tetris at the moment. It is being made into a "very big, epic sci-fi movieā I shit you not.Thursday, December 18, 2014 @ 05:38 PM
First Telltale game I'm not interested in. Seems like a blatant cash-in this does.Thursday, December 18, 2014 @ 05:47 PM
Okay, this is 1 step too far by Telltale. Don't care how much ive enjoyed their previous and current games, will NOT be getting this.Thursday, December 18, 2014 @ 05:48 PM
Decision that shape the world. I wonder what that will be like. "You made a wooden hoe" "You lose, you should have made a wooden sword."Thursday, December 18, 2014 @ 05:48 PM
@28 Welcome to today's gaming, where consumers decide a game sucks and a series/dev is "milking it" before they ever even try the game.Thursday, December 18, 2014 @ 05:58 PM
Telltale is the worst developer everThursday, December 18, 2014 @ 06:01 PM
@28 Lego is made by Traveller's Tales. Telltale only knows how to make these episodic pieces of shit based on someone else's work.Thursday, December 18, 2014 @ 07:06 PM
There is definitely going to be a pet wolf and you are definitely going to have to kill it.Thursday, December 18, 2014 @ 07:11 PM
I'm looking forward to seeing what they can do with the Minecraft idea. Not tried GoT or TFtB yet, as neither are something I'm a fan of, but I will have a crack at some point. Have faith in Telltale. I do.Thursday, December 18, 2014 @ 07:53 PM
@23 At least they do things different every while in the Lego Games look at Lego MarvelThursday, December 18, 2014 @ 08:12 PM
Tell Tale sure know how to tell a story but Minecraft? Ach well, its no secret Minecraft is the biggest game out there right now - be daft of any developer not to try and hop on the gravy train but think i will be giving this one a miss.Thursday, December 18, 2014 @ 08:15 PM
First episode of borderlands was meh, not as funny as it should have been. Walking dead seasons were fantastic, going to get the wolf among us soon, not interested in got and honestly... I dont think ill get this... It just seems so wierd. Having an official story to Minecraft is really just wrong. People were right to worry about Minecraft owned by ms.. Even tho this had to be in development before the saleThursday, December 18, 2014 @ 08:52 PM
@5: But how would we grind for the various reputation, exp, commendations, and materials needed to unlock each next episode?Thursday, December 18, 2014 @ 09:19 PM
I really hope this is good. Telltale can really nail these stories, but they have a tendency to delay the episodes so much that I lose interest. Also, The Walking Dead Season 1 & 2 ran like ass on the Xbone. Having to wait 5-10 seconds between cut scenes seems a bit excessive when it ran fairly good on the Xbox 360.Thursday, December 18, 2014 @ 10:16 PM
Telltale games like to take my money. The Walking Dead Season 1 & 2 The Wolf Among Us Game of Thrones Tales from the Borderlands And now Minecraft! I'm going to have a blast, haha.Friday, December 19, 2014 @ 12:01 AM
Unusual choice. Not sure that I'll pick it up since I don't see anything in the Minecraft universe that appeals to me in terms of narrative (unlike their other episodic games). It'll be interesting to see what they do with it, at any rate!Friday, December 19, 2014 @ 04:21 AM
@29 I'd buy that!Friday, December 19, 2014 @ 10:53 AM
Lets hope that this "sub-genre" (Telltale games) doesn't go the way of the Guitar Hero/Rock Band thang. Over saturation and decline in quality leading to a fast decline and death...Friday, December 19, 2014 @ 11:07 AM
Telltale Games haven't done me wrong yet, I've thoroughly enjoyed everything they have released to date.Friday, December 19, 2014 @ 01:44 PM
Not to be a jerk (okay, it's totally to be a jerk), but can that studio do anything except faux "your decisions matter" games with mediocre graphics and minigames that pull you out of the story? Seriously, I bet someone could program one of their games in Flash in about a week if they really wanted to. I kind of want to see if the studio knows how to do anything else except get a lot of money for games that didn't cost much in terms of development.Friday, December 19, 2014 @ 02:18 PM
Tell you what I want, broken sword, not done by telltale though. Now that was an adventure game, had challenge to, not like these, another good one was zack and wiki for the wii and I don't know if any of you played it but still life for the original xbox was awsome. I love point and click adventure games but tell tales are way overhyped and why minecraft? Its a stupid idea even if it turns out good its still pointless, why not something new that they actually came up with.

Minecraft is about to spread it wings, unshackling itself from the realm of building things out of blocks to weaving stories in an episodic adventure from Telltale Games called 'Minecraft: Story Mode'. In a collaboration with Mojang, Telltale will be taking on the gargantuan phenomenon for release in 2015.
An all-new narrative-driven game, Minecraft: Story Mode will take Telltale's storytelling know-how in creating an entirely original story that once again puts players' decisions in the spotlight. It won't be a Minecraft add-on, but an entirely separate product, mixing new characters with familiar Minecraft themes.
Minecraft: Story Mode joins new episodes for Game of Thrones and Tales From the Borderlands on Telltale Games' 2015 release slate, with the first episode due to premiere sometime in 2015 for Xbox consoles, PlayStation consoles, PC, Mac, iOS and Android.
For the news in the form of a funky little adventure game, head over to Mojang's blog.
