Marvel vs. Capcom: Origins is Being Pulled From Xbox Live At the End of the Month

Capcom has announced that it'll be removing Marvel vs. Capcom: Origins from the Xbox Live Arcade at the end of the month, so if you've been eyeing it up for a while and thinking about picking it up, this will be your last chance to do so.

No reasoning has been offered for Capcom choosing to pull the game from XBLA and PSN, although it's likely that licensing renewals could be a factor. It seldom makes sound financial sense to renew an expired license, especially if a game isn't selling all that much anymore.

Marvel vs. Capcom: Origins will be pulled from the PlayStation Network first, before being removed from the Xbox Live Arcade. Check out the dates below, then snap up the game while you still can.

  • PSN (US): DEC 23, 2014
  • PSN (EU): DEC 23, 2014
  • XBLA (GLOBAL): DEC 31, 2014

Marvel vs. Capcom: Origins can be added to your download queue here. It costs $14.99/£11.99.

  • Didn't this only came out like a year or two ago? Man this didn't last long.
  • Almost exactly 2 years ago. Another glimmer of Capcom past fading away. Get ready for super ultra mega colossal street fighter 4. Coming Q1 2015.
  • On one hand it's $15. On the other hand, it's still more Marvel vs Capcom goodness. On the third hand that I don't have, I don't have anyone that I play fighting games with. Call me old fashioned, but I need to sit next to the person I'm fighting; I never caught on to online matches.
  • No problem for me I got this bad boy on sale long ago. Thanks for the heads up though! It's a great deal X-Men vs. Street Fighter and Marvel vs. Capcom. Two great arcade classics!

  • Great double post, damn you crappy connection!
  • There's also another game getting discontinued on the 24th called Afterburner: Climax. It's pretty fun and only takes 2-3 hours to get all 200 GS on. Not great value for money but I thought I'd take a punt and quite enjoyed it.
  • @4 You mean Marvel Super Heroes. X-Men vs Street Fighter is not in this collection. Yes it is good deal plus there are no online achievements so get it while you can before its too late.
  • They should of dropped the price before it gets pulled people would buy into it then
  • will pick it up monday then as away all weekend, hate missing out on games i knew i would have played.
  • this was a lazy port to begin with if they could only do something close to what they did with hd remix i could justify buying it and its got borders give me a fucking break great work crapcom
  • Game was alot of fun! Easy 400 gamerscore as well, pick it up while you can
  • A year or two ago they delisted a few other Marvel vs. Capcom games, but in the week or two before doing so, they dropped the price significantly. At $15 I think I'll pass this up though.
  • They put it on sale before that time like they did MvC 2 & 3, glad I picked it up for $5 when it was on sale at that time.
  • Yeah drop the price and I'm in. Otherwise I'll put my Dreamcast disc in.
  • I wish ALL game publishers/developers would give the community as heads-up when they are pulling a game from the marketplace! I hate reading about it AFTER a game has been pulled. Too bad this isn't a game I'm looking to buy, but I'm glad people are being given a chance to get it - sale or not (although it would be great if they DID make it one of the discounts before the end of the year)!!
  • @3 skype them i did video chat to see who could beat a boss faster on ps2
  • Glad to have it and taken care of.
