Square Enix has released a trailer for Final Fantasy XV showing the game's towns for the first time, as well as a peak at some of the towering summon creatures you'll be able to call upon in battle. Seriously, they're absolutely massive. This latest trailer coincides with the opening of Jump Festa 2015.

It also features a first-look at some of Final Fantasy XV's new features and the familiar faces you'll encounter in the game, so it's worth a watch. As is the TGS 2014 trailer, which has been re-released with English voiceover, so you can get a better idea of what's going on.

Watch both vids below. Don't forget, you'll be able to play Final Fantasy XV when the demo drops with copies of Final Fantasy: Type-0 HD for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on March 17th, 2015 in North America and on March 20th in Europe.

  • Also, Cid is a woman now. Cidny, to be exact. http://tinyurl.com/kzt8tzc
  • guarantee there will be a worldwide demo later on there not going to limit there audience to people who bought type 0. they will release a worldwide one for everyone to play just like every other company who say they have an exclusive beta for pre ordering or whatever it goes to an open beta later on.
  • The combat looks like a hybrid of Dynasty Warriors and Alan Wake.
  • @2 I doubt it most demos like this stay exclusive between playing halo 3 early and the original metal gear demo most always stay exclusive to that product.
  • I'm wondering if this is another "Linear" experience with this car thing. The areas "seem" open enough, but it looks like the car thing just drives itself during cutscenes and such. I want to love Final Fantasy again, but to do that, I have to know which of these sections of video are playable and which are cutscenes... Without knowing that, it's really hard to tell how linear the game is going to be as well as how some of the mechanics of it will work.
  • @5 - If you watch one of the other recent videos where they get out of the car it's virtually non-linear. Any place you see on the video can be traversed by foot, they've only included the car (which can be auto-driven, but doesn't have to be) because the game is so large and it would take you ages to walk it on foot. It's basically like a FF version of Skyrim
  • @6 That actually sounds pretty cool. You saying that and these trailers actually got me a bit interested in this game.
  • @6 I can traverse the entire game without the car? Guess I don't need the car! Don't worry, I've been like that with every RPG there is. If I can walk and explore without the fast vehicle, I tend to only use the fast vehicle for getting to one place or another faster... And walk on foot for everything else. Oblivion? Never used a horse. Skyrim? Same deal. Just Cause 2? Only used vehicles when it was absolutely necessary. Dead Rising 3? Same thing. If we can seriously walk absolutely everywhere, that's all I'm going to do. Hoof it on foot and see what there is to explore.
  • There needs to be actual stuff out there to be found tho. Not just a rotten tree stump to press A and recieve 2 potions. There needs to be dungeons hidden thru some twisted valley, behemoth masters in the dark basins, and powerful items/spells just out of reach that taunt us to explore other avenues of the world. Am i askng for too much?? This game needs to invigorate the series.
  • @9 From what I've seen of other videos (I went and looked a bunch up yesterday) they actually do have dungeons and such hidden out there in the world. The way the game looks is like this: The car must stay on the road, it cannot go off-roading. However, the world seems split into "zones" that load up when you enter them so that you can never be too far from your car and so that you can complete the game as you go. The road you're on is the linear path through the main story and everything off the road seems to be stuff you can do besides the story. It was also mentioned that for a lot of the footage we've got now that show the exploration, lots of stuff was turned off so as not to hassle the people who were just showing off the world and the exploration. They turned off quests and events as well as a bunch of random encounters, apparently. But... We should all remember to put our skepticism hats on. I remember Final Fantasy 13 and you guys should too...
  • If you look at 1:01 in the TGS english voice over they parked off road beside the lake that im pretty sure they were exploring in the past 10 minute walkthrough video with no road to get there. What im wondering is if your car gets shot up by those soliders or hit by a monster how do you repair it? If what you said about zones is true than getting back to town is null i bet you have to call Cid-girl and she comes in a helicopter or a small airship and performs maintainence. All in all i hope they can deliver a great FF game.
