Fuck off Capcom!Wednesday, January 28, 2015 @ 11:37 AM
Hey, remember when Capcom was a respectable company not trying to penny pinch you? So long ago that its a distant memory.Wednesday, January 28, 2015 @ 11:38 AM
Who cares! Not a big deal.Wednesday, January 28, 2015 @ 11:38 AM
No this is a no bad ideaWednesday, January 28, 2015 @ 11:40 AM
This how micro transactions should be. It says you can earn the crystals for free anyway, and they don't offer any kind of overpowered advantageWednesday, January 28, 2015 @ 11:42 AM
No one is saying you have to buy them, play the game normally and earn them?Wednesday, January 28, 2015 @ 11:43 AM
Aaaaaaand... pass. As #1 said, they can go fuck themselves.Wednesday, January 28, 2015 @ 11:56 AM
Why do we moan so much about this, if your not shit at games it isn't an issue.Wednesday, January 28, 2015 @ 12:03 PM
Keep microtransactions on mobile games....or just remove them completely.Wednesday, January 28, 2015 @ 12:28 PM
MT are shit. You might as well go to an arcade, at least the game will probably be complete. Penny pinching is wrong... Simple.Wednesday, January 28, 2015 @ 12:44 PM
Maybe poor people should read library books for FREE, instead of playing $60 games on $500 entertainment systems, then bitching at the extra $5 for added content. Half of you bitches are probably spending Mommy's money anyway...Wednesday, January 28, 2015 @ 01:38 PM
#12 has sit on uncle's 'knee' for his moneyWednesday, January 28, 2015 @ 01:43 PM
#10. Wow look Get Paid Up To $23.75 Per hour!! With that kind of money I can buy as many microtransactions as I please. What a knob & why do you waste posting this crap.Wednesday, January 28, 2015 @ 01:49 PM
This is probably one of the least invasive microtransactions that I have heard of in recent memory. Really not a big deal!Wednesday, January 28, 2015 @ 01:55 PM
#14 I think the knob is the one who doesn't realize he's talking to a scripted robot :pWednesday, January 28, 2015 @ 02:11 PM
Boooo, I'm out.Wednesday, January 28, 2015 @ 02:30 PM
I've been on the fence about this game for a while, and I think I just fell off it. Onto the side where I don't buy it.Wednesday, January 28, 2015 @ 03:38 PM
Capcom never fails! Whether its invasive or not when i see something like this no-matter what game it is i tell myself. Either ill wait and get this used for 10 in a few months or ill watch the walk-through or lets play videos on you-tube but the company will get nothing from me. I never buy games day one unless i believe its the complete game. IE The Witcher 2 I didn't even buy Alien Isolation which was one of the best games iv played in awhile just because the $10 preorder DLC or season passes. This BS needs to stop or more people will be like me. I don't need to play the game to find out its story thanks to the internet and YouTube. idiots....Wednesday, January 28, 2015 @ 04:43 PM
I don't mind micro transactions, and I never have so long as they are completely optional and just a means of advancing faster. I PREFER to at least have the OPTION of advancing faster in a game with real life money. Though I've personally never bought any, I still don't see a single problem with it.Wednesday, January 28, 2015 @ 04:54 PM
I'd never use this for hard mode.. _>. It's not like I'd stockpile lives for the bosses or anything.. psst. how much do those lives go for?:PWednesday, January 28, 2015 @ 06:39 PM
At least this isn't pay to win, if you were able to buy strong weaponry I'd end up boy coating this, given that revives can be earn in game, it's not too bad. Still, this is the first step Capcom's hit on the way down so far, they fell with making dragons dogma online a jap exclusive, this is the first step, lets see how far they're gonna fall down the stairs then.Wednesday, January 28, 2015 @ 07:07 PM
Yeah, I never understood the griping about microtransactions unless they directly affected the gameplay. This just seems to be an easy out for getting extra lives without earning them. No big deal.Wednesday, January 28, 2015 @ 07:30 PM
Don't mind if it's optional and there is a way to earn them LIGIT. Can't wait game looks awesomeWednesday, January 28, 2015 @ 10:11 PM
Fuck off with your microtransaction bullshit for fucks sake Btw, @12 extra lives are not additional content...Wednesday, January 28, 2015 @ 10:46 PM
No, no, no. This is capcom testing the waters. How long before these trickle their way into the campaigns of their games? Fuck off capcom. Publishers think they can get away with ass raping us and they can cuz we have people that are fine with it. Vote with your wallets peopleThursday, January 29, 2015 @ 06:09 AM
What's wrong with this sort of mocrotransaction? It's not any sort of P2W mechanic, it isn't denying you any sort of content, and is an overall minor bonus anyway. Add in that the microtransaction in question can be earned without spending an extra penny, it seems fine. Those who want to pay for help can get it, and everyone else can just play as usual without feeling like they're missing out. Of all of Capcom's dumb decisions, this doesn't even compare. I'll take optional microtransactions that do absolutely nothing over on-disc DLC any day.Thursday, January 29, 2015 @ 09:17 AM
I posted this on the sister site because quite frankly I'm getting fucked off with this crap now; micro transactions were created for games that didn't make money via purchase fees...aka mobile games like angry birds and other f2p games they have no justification to be in retail games other than pure profiteering and greed anybody who defends them are quite simply mindless sheep and the fact you complain about people not liking games turning into shameless cash grabs just makes you look even more stupidThursday, January 29, 2015 @ 09:33 AM
here we go with the moaning; the exact reason I lost my game sharing and gifting on a console you have to be always online to get full functionality anywayThursday, January 29, 2015 @ 09:34 AM
and if you don't have the money for an OPTIONAL MT don't buy it fucking complainersThursday, January 29, 2015 @ 09:36 AM
and if some lil rich kid wants to buy lives in his mamas basement fucking let them... oh yeah the money isn't going in your pockets so you hate I forgot the general public = idiotsThursday, January 29, 2015 @ 02:40 PM
Games have had stuff like this for ages. Pretty sure Sonic & Sega All Stars Racing had the option to pay to unlock all content at once. GTAV has 'Shark Cards' to buy in game money. All of this is stuff you can unlock yourself, it just gives you the otion to get it early. If someone wants to buy extra lives then so be it, you don't HAVE to buy the extra lives.

Resident Evil: Revelations 2 will have microtransactions, Capcom has confirmed. But before you started lighting torches and picking up pitchforks, the microtransactions will only be present in the game's Raid Mode, wherein you'll be able to purchase Life Crystals for extra lives that will enable you to revive and continue from the same spot if you die.
Forumites over on NeoGAF spotted the microtransactions in Raid Mode, which as any fan will know is Revelations' spin on Mercenaries. In Raid, you must escape an area by shooting your way through enemies while armed to the teeth. You can acquire new weapons, earn skill points and customise your character. Other characters can also be unlocked, including Wesker, Hunk and other familiar faces from the series.
I got my hands on the first six missions of Raid Mode yesterday, and used only a single Life Crystal in the one instance I died. It allowed me to continue late into the mission and finish it without having to go back to the beginning. However, Raid missions are rather short anyway and Life Crystals can also be earned for free through completing Daily Missions.
"Players can enjoy all that Raid mode has to offer without any purchase of Life Crystals," a Capcom spokesperson confirmed to Eurogamer. "They are absolutely not an essential item players must invest in in order to complete the mode."
Look out for our Resident Evil: Revelations 2 gameplay preview video sometime soon. Resident Evil: Revelations 2's first episode is out next month.
