Badland: Game of the Year Edition is coming to Xbox One this spring via Microsoft's ID@Xbox self-publishing programme, developer Frogmind has announced.

“Badland mixes innovative physics-based gameplay, creative level design and dynamic power-ups with stunning, atmospheric graphics and audio.,” says the dev. “You control a flying creature, Clony, through a beautiful forest with an ominous undertone, discovering an astonishing number of imaginative traps, puzzles and obstacles on your way to finding out just what is going on.”

Originally released on iPad, where it picked up numerous rewards, Badland arrives on Xbox with a bunch of extra stuff. “Badland: Game of the Year Edition features four times more content than the original did at launch,” says Frogmind. “It has 100 single-player levels (which should take around 15 hours to complete), 100 co-op levels and 27 deathmatch stages for up-to-four-person local multiplayer awesomeness.”

There’s a trailer below.

  • This game was fun when I had an IPhone i might check it out again for xbox one.
  • Next-Gen = Old Games
  • Game of the year? I've never even heard of it.
  • Yes, maybe they port over a lot of old games, but guess what? I never played it. It's call having some friggin variety. The more the merrier, and if you don't wanna play it, no one's putting a gun to you head and forcing you to buddy.
  • Is it crazy to say I want a Brutal Legend Definitive edition?
  • Not crazy #5, just utterly pointless.
  • I loved this on iPad. Great little puzzle/platform game.
  • Do you even know what the word "variety" means?
  • @HissingMeat I completely agree with you man, that's all any games are now, are clones! Nobody can come up with something fresh and new anymore, it just about never happens. All we get nowadays are 1st and 3rd person shooter clones, and like you said sidescrolling clones (an insane amount at that). Absolutely no creativity in gaming anymore
  • @11 the escapists was pretty unique. Of course it was 2D retro style graphics so you automatically get some people complaining about them because they're on the latest Gen consoles but aren't 3D and/or don't push the system to it's limits so there is no point or it's only worthy of last gen etc... Games should be fun, everyone finds fun in different ways and since no one is forcing anyone to buy the games, what does it matter if the genre or style saturates the market for a while? Making a unique or plain different game is dangerous because most people (most likely including those who complain about cookie cutter games) don't like to buy something they're not used to so those unique IPs might not realise their full potential.
  • Soon all the last gen games will be ported to new consoles, why spend money on new game development when you can port old game for cheap.
  • @2 No one is forcing you to buy these 'old games'. Stop whining and buy the new ones if you care so much.
  • #13 there is literally triple "new games" compared to remakes or more. 2015 will hopefully shut the people up who say the same thing in every port thread. We get it, but there's tons of other games to play and some of us haven't played every game ever.
  • Well I'm looking forward to this!
  • This game is great on my phone, not sure I would want to play it on my Xbox One though.
  • @5 we would be the only 2 hyped for that
  • @15 I'm glad there is some new games this year but if some had there way we would have Akrham ports from the 360 and witcher 2 port instead of great new games. Sadly some don't understand putting out ports delays the production of new games, they just scream "don't like it don't buy it"
  • @5 DUDEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
  • Sweet! Another arcade game to ignore! I can't wait!!!
  • You know... if they (could) only came out with games that appealed to EVERY SINGLE GAMER... there would NEVER be any new games! A bunch of spoiled, entitled... brats!!! If you don't like a game, you don't need to bitch about it so hard. Announcements of new games are NOT specifically for each and every one of you - it's an announcement for everyone. Stop being selfish and shut-up if you hate it! Take a chill-pill. I'm always glad to hear about new games - whether it's one I'm interested in or not. It's called, "variety!" Try being quiet until you have something positive to say. This particular game looks like fun to me!
  • I might play this.
