German indie developer MADE has announced Slice Zombies for Kinect, due to launch via ID@Xbox exclusively for Xbox One next month. It looks and sounds a lot like Fruit Ninja for Kinect, but with little ragdoll zombies, as you use your hands to cut the rotting undead to pieces.

You can also grab zombies with one hand and cut them with the other, and shoot them too, unlocking "funny zombie types" including exploding zombies, time travelling zombies, zombie bunnies or the Evil Zevel, who comes equipped with a rocket pack. Slicing coins, meanwhile, unlocks new items, backgrounds and walking hands with special abilities.

Spread across 21 stages, Slice Zombies for Kinect will be shambling onto Xbox One on 8th May 2015, priced $9.99/£7.99. Check out the trailer and a few screenshots below.

  • They should really let you use controllers as a secondary support for these games. I get that Kinect is the main focus, but what about people that don't have Kinect...Like almost everyone that bought one after they rid of the Kinect off the bundle.
  • Do people still play Kinect?
  • @3 I imagine that parents with young children use the shit out of their Kinect
  • A good Kinect game would be good for onece. I wonder how MS would feel if I sent my Kinect back to them asking for my money back, as I bought it on the pretense of the Kinect being an integral part of the Xbox One. That lasted what? 4 months? Now all it does is gather more dust than my PS4.
  • @4 yes that was a shame and kinda put me off the xbox one where I would have preferred to get the bundle. Kinect games need to be 100% Kinect only else as @1 states everyone would use a controller instead thus making Kinect redundant. Which is why it's gone that way...
  • #4 D4, with Kinect, is amazing.
  • Is this anything to do with Plants V Zombies? The zombies are near identical!
  • @2 yea my kinect gets some usage mostly voice commands for netflix, and such, but games like d4, fruit ninja and so on are great with kinect I just need more of them which is great to see more kinect lineup games, I feel the id@xbox program is going to give the most usage outta the kinect
  • Awesome, now all we need is Slice Kinect Nazis and two biggest manaces of the world will be done with on Kinect. As a matter of fact this should be DLC!! Seriously though, looks kinda lame, but I guess I can see appeal for kids..
  • A lot of smaller devs were pissed at Microsoft for swearing kinect was the future and then pulling the plug on it. I love mine for voice commands but a simple microphone could probably handle that. Hopefully some new kinect games other than dance central eventually get released but I won't hold my breath.
  • Im with number one. I dont have a kinect and im not paying that much for one but i would get this for my kids if a controler could be used
  • Looks like it might be fun. A novelty. My kids and I use the kinect together. It is fun with family
  • That has to be in the running for least enthusiastic trailer of the year.
  • people moan about not being able to use a controller for a kinect game, then moan about kinect not getting any love, that makes sense.... as for the comments on kinect being shit or no games being good with it... d4 off top of my head is awesome, fifa i couldnt really play without now, changing subs and tactics on the fly, also launching games, parties and selecting items has all become second nature with kinect, fruit ninja is good fun with my boy, and party games like dance central, shame it doesnt get more love tbf, good to see it getting some support though.
