Square Enix today announced that Star Ocean: The Last Hope will hit PAL territories in the spring of this year, so expect an early Q2 definitive release date in the coming months this side of the pond.
The latest title from tri-Ace is Star Ocean's debut on a Microsoft console and is set to "continues the series traditions of soaring space opera, blending science fiction with fantasy for a unique RPG experience."
The Last Hope boasts "refined gameplay" that "features four party members and team-oriented combat, while maintaining the innovative real-time battle system that has become a trademark of the STAR OCEAN series."
The story is set to take place in SD 10, amidst the aftermath of WWIII with humanity voyaging the stars, looking for a new home. The Last Hope is a prequel to the series and the story will span multiple planets and the vastness of space. Expect to see fantastic visuals and "breathtaking" CG movies from Visual Works, whose previous work includes the Final Fantasy series.
