  • Indie box ONE. Wave after wave of these games. There is no quality control in these games. Most of them are crappy and full of bugs.
  • Since ive got such a big back log of games to play, i just don't have that need to buy indie games until theres a big sale on
  • Don't see a season pass for Blues and Bullets? I'll wait for a sale when they're all out I think.
  • I love indie games as it's usually those types of games where the innovation and passion shines through. #1,#2: Each to their own I guess. If I were to only play AAA titles i would have to wait a good long while between each game I wanted to play. I so glad there are so many cool indie games this summer along with all those anticipated AAA blockbusters.
  • @1 As if the major titles launch without issues.
  • It's nice to see games with variety being released instead of re-using the 'Formula' that people like in games, which becomes stale, boring and corporate
  • @4: The developer said that ID@Xbox games can not have season passes, so it looks like we'll need to purchase each episode individually. I've got guides up for Octodad (6-8h), Blues and Bullets (90min), and Whispering Willows (60min). Really enjoyed the former two, not so much WW. As for people liking indie games, not sure why that's such a crime. They fit my lifestyle. I get 1-2 hours a night to game after my wife and kids are in bed, and it's easier to dive into indies than a AAA epic.
  • @4 Indy games cant have season passes. You have to buy the individual episodes as they release. @1 "There is no quality control in these games. Most of them are crappy and full of bugs." I guess you don't play any triple a games then? Those games are bug free and neeeever need patches. That's a load of crock and you know it.I admit the game library is pretty scarce, but there is more than enough to choose from.Next year is going to be pretty damn good. The games will come.Just relax. What if I only liked Kinect games? Now imagine me being in control of what gets released on the X1. Lets say you hate them (maybe you do,just humor me though). Now just imagine me only releasing the games you hate. You don't like them, but I do.Would you like it if I only thought about myself? No you wouldn't.There are plenty of great aaa and Indy games on the X1. It may seem like we're getting an influx of Indy games, but we really aren't.These past few months have been part of a summer initiative.Pretty soon the pace will slow to a crawl. If you take away the Indy games from X1, what would you be left with? Obviously, the games that are already released are not enough for you. @2 "@1 Careful. The people on this website love games. But I completely agree." There fixed it for you :) Like clockwork.
  • I just find it strange that getting on for two years since the xbox1 launched and it has more indie/id digital than retail releases. I mean its still getting re-masters and re-releases. The other problem I have is the price why are some £5-£10 and others are £20 or more?! And 90% of them have achievements that a blind monkey could earn.
  • @10: Not strange at all. There are way more small studios than big ones, and it is way easier to create a small game and release it on your own than try to convince a publisher to fund your huge idea. Take Quest of Dungeons for instance (coming 09/09) - that is made by one person. It's a solid Gauntlet clone with a turn-based twist on the combat. People are going to shit on it because it has 16-bit graphics, but there are people who enjoy an old-school game, so what's wrong with it existing for them? No one is forcing you to buy it. Its existence is not getting in the way of Eidos Montreal creating Deus Ex. I don't get the indie hate. It isn't hurting anyone, and it is only providing diversity for gamers.
  • Kev, Its probably because Indie games are generally faster and cheaper to make. The turnaround is a faster I'd imagine.I personally think MS released the X1 a year (or 2) too soon.As for "too much Indy", that's something you can blame MS for in a sense.Games should have remained games. They created this divide, by calling them arcade games in the first place. If the moniker "Arcade games" never existed, you'd just be calling them "shitty games"(not meant as a sleight).Basically, they'd be the same as any other game. They'd just be another game you don't like. As far as price goes, consider if you were making these games.Theres no hard rule a game should be any given price. If your ivestment in a game was $900k, $1.5 mil or any value really.Wouldn't you try to recoup as much money as you could? How many of these guys break even, let alone make a profit? They could make the achievements MUCH harder for sure.Sadly the sales would suffer. It's all about finding balance. Not everyone is a pushover. Some are very difficult.
  • #8. Well feckin said. Same boat as this man.
  • Only idiots will complain about gamers having a choice. Some of us love to play stuff that isn't aaa, it's a nice change. My complaint is that alot don't deserve their high price tag. Most should be $10 and under, not the 15 to 20 buck norm.
  • Although i don't mind id games,it's not what i bought an xbox one for, where's all the exclusives we were promised.
  • @17 Don't you think it's odd, that the all games page has no filters(like A-Z)? Its also rather dubious that there are some games with 3-4 tabs, on the very same page. There are also the same games with their goty versions listed separately, on the same page. 2 years in and the games have no filter for that page. There's no excuse for it.Looking for games can be a chore.I'd rather not hold Lb or Rb to search.Sometimes I want a direct path to whatever. The buttons are fast, but some functionality is so basic. These things should have been incorporated ages ago. Hopefully the dash update will clear up any issues.
  • @16 I completely agree. What happened to the 5 and 10 dollar games? When did they start charging 20 for like 4-6 hours of gameplay. It seems like they are getting a little out of hand with the pricing which is a shame because I would grab a ton of those games if they were just $5 cheaper.
  • great another pile of crappy indie games hope most of these lazy fuckers who make these go bankrupt NO DEMO no SALE I'm not wasting money on games THAT LOOK SHIT.
  • @20 That's a rotten attitude to have.Wishing something like that, on someone because they don't make games you like is pure childish.Do you even know what it means to be a gamer? The gaming world does not revolve around you.Games are made to appeal to a wide range of people. If the variety of games doesn't appeal to you now, wait until Id@Xbox gets into full swing. There will be even more in the coming years.I'm pretty sure their pace far exceed that of AAA releases. I cant believe you don't have anything to play. Why else would you be hating on Indy so much? The industry was founded on people with enterprising spirits.Activision was Indy at one point. Some of their games were even shittier than what you claim to hate today. If not for people wanting to try new things, this industry wouldn't even exist. If their are no games coming out appeal to you, just sell your Xbox. These Indy games are going become even more frequent. So either wait for the games that appeal to you or bow out with grace. What do you want? Do you only want games released that appeal to you? As a gamer, I have all the games I could ever want get released every year. There is always something for me to play. Name every game you(want)like and have preordered. What if someone said they hated them all and wanted them canceled.Imagine if that person actually had the power to do that.Would you like that?Would it be fair? Think about what you post, before you post it.Wishing someone into financial ruin over a GAME, is childish as hell.I buy Indy and AAA games all the time.If I ever got to a point where I had to complain about something so simple, that would be the time I hang my controller up. By the way I'm getting quite a few of the games listed above.Thats not even taking into account the games I'll get from the weekly sale.Ahh, so many games.. *Sorry for hogging the comments section guys.
  • I purchased Blues & Bullets on impulse last night. It turned out to be a simple & easy but stylish & intriguing game. No bugs, at least none I've come across, no idea what #1 was going on about regarding quality. I'll be happy to support the developer by purchasing the remaining episodes if they remain at the same price point.
  • @21 about the bankrupt that should not have been there I thought I deleted it not sure why it did not. The reason I said that these games are shit is because they will not do a PLAYABLE DEMO I am not going to waste £12 on every indie games just to see if I like them. I don't hate indie games got no problem with them on 360 after all they have DEMOS and are easy to find its just the indie games on the x1 I have a problem with after all there is no PLAYABLE DEMO for any indie games on the x1 as far as I know. Which brings me to my other problem I have with id@xbox games how do the indie dev's expect to sell there games when microsoft will not allow us to search for them in the store I have had a x1 for 3 months and I only know of at least 5 games that are id@xbox games, that makes no sense to me microsoft advertise these id@xbox games on the x1 but they make it all most impossable to find them in the store.
  • @2 & 11. Dude.. Just fuck off.
  • @18 there is a search feature. do wish it was like psn though and gold games had there own tab along with discounts for the week. Might get a tile on the dashboard every once in a while but not all the time that takes you to discounts.
  • @24 The store is a mess.Finding what you want quickly, can be a chore at times.Hopefully, the new dash update will make the UI as smooth as the 360s' was. There are a few Indy demos in the store.Too bad finding them is quite the chore. You're right, they need to fix the mess they've made. @18 I know. It's more like a 'hide n seek' feature, rather than a search feature :p
