Now its emotes. It will soon be weapons and exotics. Bungie are the worst extortionate gaming company i have ever know.. So sad when all they think about is £££. Why not add the vendor and let us buy with glimmer. Its not like we just paid £40 for DLC oh sorry i mean destiny 2.0Tuesday, October 13, 2015 @ 06:56 PM
I won't get the dlc just because of the middle finger I was given regarding my 1.5k hours in the game pre ttk, but you don't see me pissing and moaning about it. I'll just play halo5 =DTuesday, October 13, 2015 @ 07:12 PM
Like this game wasn't bullshit enough, now they have to go and add micro-transactions...Tuesday, October 13, 2015 @ 07:24 PM
And the pitchforks are already out lol. At least see where this goes before jumping down their throats that these micro transactions will jump to "pay to win". There have been plenty of games that successfully use micro transactions for cosmetic items only.Tuesday, October 13, 2015 @ 08:11 PM
@4 No! I paid £40 for the core game, then £20 for the season pass and then £40 for the Taken King, they have no fucking right to add micro-transactions.Tuesday, October 13, 2015 @ 08:41 PM
I stopped playing way back at the beginning but have been following the updates..... Did they even get half-way making the game when they released it??? How many balance updates dose 1 game need?? Shocking that they now put micro transactions in really really bad in my opinion.Tuesday, October 13, 2015 @ 08:53 PM
I'll prolly jump on and....oh look! Witcher dlc!Tuesday, October 13, 2015 @ 09:04 PM
@2 You've played 1500 hours of Destiny? @5 The great thing about Microtransactions is that they are 100% optional.Tuesday, October 13, 2015 @ 09:06 PM
I'm not putting any more money into this damn game. £40 for the core game, £35 for the Expansion Pass and £40 for the Taken King. Destiny can fuck itself.Tuesday, October 13, 2015 @ 09:35 PM
@5 and now because of these OPTIONAL cosmetic microtransactions you'll be getting FREE future content and expansions.Tuesday, October 13, 2015 @ 09:45 PM
@1: Now it's emotes. Soon it will be shaders and emblems. It will never be gear. Only cosmetic items. They've said this numerous times, and until they turn their back on that word, there is no reason to be up in arms. @5: They have every right, it's their game. If the decision tanks them, then it was the wrong decision. The fact is, they are hoping to use cosmetic MTAs to fund future content to give away for free. They hear you. They understand you don't want to buy expansions all year. Frankly, TTK was worth the $40. The other two weren't worth $20 each. I think everyone is aware of that now. I think their ultimate goal is a once per year paid expansion on the scope of TTK, and smaller free updates throughout the year. Selling The Carlton to myself and few thousands of other people might see that become a reality, so I'm all for it.Tuesday, October 13, 2015 @ 09:59 PM
5 bucks for a dance or a slow clap seems pretty steep to me. To each their own though. Seems pretty dumb that you can only use one at a time anyway when there are four directions on a d-pad.Tuesday, October 13, 2015 @ 10:17 PM
Dont see the point in nerfing how many motes of light we get, they're only useful for upgrading stuff to get partsTuesday, October 13, 2015 @ 11:03 PM
@13 they changed it because of exploit. You could equip blue gear in every slot, spend some motes of light and then dismantle every single blue piece to get much more motes, that you spent...Tuesday, October 13, 2015 @ 11:49 PM
@12: That's my only frustration with the emotes. I like having Point in case I'm showing someone a collectible. If I buy The Cartlton, I'm never using my normal dance again so I'd rather be able to replace that. Seems crazy to offer so many options but only be able to equip one at a time.Wednesday, October 14, 2015 @ 01:11 AM
And still no way of rewarding solo players in a meaningful way.... AwesomeWednesday, October 14, 2015 @ 03:04 AM
@16: It's an MMO (though they refuse to call it that), so I'm not sure what you're expecting. The content is designed for fireteams of 3-6 players.Wednesday, October 14, 2015 @ 04:12 AM
As if this wasn't bad enough, apparently Bungie has now come out in support of Anita Sarkessian. Sorry, Bungie. You've pissed me off one too many times. Letting go of Marty O'Donnell in the shitty way you did was the first bomb. This is the second. You'll never see a cent from me.Wednesday, October 14, 2015 @ 04:26 AM
@18: Sadly I'm not surprised by this. I was considering getting the taken king. But if bungie wants to support a lying crazy feminist they sure dont need my money.Wednesday, October 14, 2015 @ 05:34 AM
ANY game that needs THIS many fixes/patches deserves to fail. I quit after 200+ hours, and I am simply done with it. Hard to imagine that people still play this unfinished heap.Wednesday, October 14, 2015 @ 05:36 AM
Isn't it interesting how this update also added additional items into the Destiny database: http://db.destinytracker.com/items/consumables/consumable That Indomitable Light. Also funny how it says in game: "Consumable items are nonreturnable" Consumable items only available with silver to increase loot drops ARE coming. I have not doubts. I don't believe anything Bungie says anymore, considering how they lied before the game released. (still no trading or gambling features)Wednesday, October 14, 2015 @ 05:59 AM
@6 it's okay for other games to have so many updates...Wednesday, October 14, 2015 @ 06:36 AM
if they are going to sell emotes they should at least allow us to equip them in the slot we wantWednesday, October 14, 2015 @ 07:06 AM
@22 no its not ok but this has been going on since the beginning it's one disaster after another and you suckers accept it every time.Wednesday, October 14, 2015 @ 09:36 AM
@21 "We aren't (nor are we planning) on selling consumables that buff King's Fall drop rates for Silver." - https://twitter.com/thislukesmith/status/654213224007503872Wednesday, October 14, 2015 @ 10:08 AM
This gets sadder and sadder by the minute. It's clear the game is a total flop, and they keep inventing and making up ways to earn some of their money back.... For the love of god, adding micro transactions in your game doesn't change the fact your game sucks. Totalling all costs with season passes and a new add on to +100$? Get fucked will you?!Wednesday, October 14, 2015 @ 10:16 AM
This comment section seems full of people who think because of the steady stream of updates and balancing changes the game's failing. Quite the opposite, the updates and the speed at which we receive them are nothing but a good thing. Let them release emotes for money, they give you money for two emotes anyway for free. Anyone who thinks this is a flop is sadly mistaken and obviously not up to date, it's at an all time high with the success of The Taken King and rightly so. One of the best expansions I've ever bought.Wednesday, October 14, 2015 @ 11:22 AM
Seems like now is the best time to start the game properly. A friend and I are about to start this up just a play when we fancy it game and finally it looks like they have fixed alot of problems which has plagued it from Day One. I do feel sorry for the people who have sunk in over 100 hours but if you knew the game was broken, grindy and it started to make you hate it then why continue playing? People who comment on this site all seem to think they were FORCED to play the game. If they want to add in microtransations thats their choice, what difference does it make? they dont have a gun pointed at your head telling you to buy them. The point i am making is that everyone who bought the original game and season pass and then TTK all had a choice. The game seems more balanced and better than ever now so why not not start enjoying it? otherwise why not stick another game on?Wednesday, October 14, 2015 @ 12:12 PM
@27: *spends $5* *slow clap* The Taken King outsold MGS5 in September, even on Playstation. People keep spouting this rhetoric that Destiny is failing and people hate it, yet it sells extremely well and has a constant user base. I don't get it. Like you said, the updates and fixes are simply them listening to fans and "getting it right." I think a lot of stuff was done wrong in Year 1 because they were new to this genre. I think they have fixed most of it, and every time they make a new wrong decision, they are quick to admit it and work on a fix. Luke Smith tweeted this morning that they'll be fixing the Nightfall rewards, for instance. I'm not some ignorant slappy. The game launched with mistakes, and they continue to make mistakes. But they're committed to the community and keep improving, and I have a shit ton of fun playing it.Wednesday, October 14, 2015 @ 12:33 PM
Blue rarity weapons only giving 1 weapon part now is so lame, it already takes ages to grind strike playlists for enough of them to upgrade or infuse. What a cheeky way to get people to play more doing the same boring strikes over and over.Wednesday, October 14, 2015 @ 12:45 PM
@17 They actually called it a shared world shooter....not a mmoWednesday, October 14, 2015 @ 04:24 PM
I am so glad I decided not to play this game.Wednesday, October 14, 2015 @ 06:02 PM
People are going to complain about Destiny no matter what Bungie does, because they are just following the trend are incapable of original thought. Other games can get multiple updates, have things revamped, etc, and that is fine. But when Bungie does something along the same lines that is 100% beneficial to the game... "Damn, Bungie... Money grab... Lack of story... Other, now irrelevant, problem with the game because I have only played it once but think I have an educated opinion on the game a full year later after multiple changes" comments still keep flooding in. Others have said it best, NO ONE FORCED you to play it or keep playing it. Those of us who enjoy it, are still playing if and appreciate that XBACHIEVEMENTS are still giving us regular updates on what is happening with the game we like. "I don't care about Destiny." Most of you cafe enough to bitch on EVERY ARTICLE about it though.

Bungie has released Update 2.0.1 for Destiny, paving the way for the Eververse Trading Company, Iron Banner and Trials of Osiris, while introducing a whole bunch of fixes.
Iron Banner is live now and you can read all about the new power curves here. Explained in the notes below are the changes to how the event plays out and how you’re gonna acquire new gear. Meanwhile, Trials of Osiris has been on the receiving end of some similar changes. You can read about those below too.
The Eververse Trading Company, as previously outlined, is the new microtransaction vendor in The Tower. Guardians can now buy new emotes with an in-game currency called Silver. The whole thing is terrible and exploitative and I’m totally gonna buy everything. Sorry.
There’s loads more below too. Crucible playlists have been fiddled with, Strikes have been tinkered with and lots, lots more besides. Here’s the full list.
